I have a question about the age of your character and the year in school.

My character is muggle born and only got her letter at age 13. So my question is does she have to start at first year, or can she go right to third year?

I've been told it's not a big deal, but I'm still curious if i can go right to third year.

You don't have to roleplay as if your character just showed up at the school. I know many people, myself included, gave their characters backstories that involved them already attending Hogwarts.

And you don't have to start as a first year. You control the age and year of your character at all times. So if you want her to be a 3rd year that is totally up to you.

I just find it easier for my mind to start completely fresh and work up from there. lol

Thanks, I might switch her up to third year to make things a little easier. Perhaps being so smart, and in Ravenclaw she could have caught up rather quickly. lol
