Name: Alistair Zednik
Age: 25
Bloodline: Pure blood, Blood Traitor
House: Gryffindor.
Job: Hogwarts Grounds Keeper (Gamekeeper)
Physical Appearance: Alistair's body is a semi-built physique, due to minimal work out, proportioned to his five foot eleven inch height. Weighing at between one hundred fifty and one hundred sixty pounds, depending on the season, and the food being openly served. He has fluffy brown hair, which he allows to be unkempt, and cobalt blue eyes, that change to a lighter blue in moonlight. On a regular basis he will shave, but he always seems to be rough around the edges of his strong jaw. He is very comfortable with his looks, and is not one to be bothered by someone only interested in a specific type of person. His nose is a bit long in height with a small bridge, but it matches his long jaw and often wide smile. His masculine shoulders match his built physique, supporting strong arms, able to carry more than his own weight, which are usually covered by his shirt sleeves, but sometimes are revealed when he rolls them up. His wrists aren't thin, attached to powerful yet nimble hands and fingers. There is a small burn on the back of his right hand, received when he was getting to know his wand. His well muscled legs are perfect for running, and keep him well balanced, even if standing on things as thin as a broomstick. He learned his center of balance with great patience and practice and knows how to position his size ten feet to keep him so balanced, even in a pair of shoes.
There are several 'war' scars on his body, that he keeps covered all the time, not wanting anyone to worry over something that happened so long ago. He keeps them on his body as a reminder that everyone makes mistakes, and some mistakes have to take a toll. It is not that he is embarrassed about them, but they are not something he likes to show off. The biggest he has is a large scar down his back, received when he was flying a little too fast chasing a dark wizard through an alley crowded with balconies.
He is one of the only wizard's that wears an updated style of a leisure suit, and even prefers this type of clothing to his wizard's robes. He always wears his collar loose, and only buttons it and puts his collar down when he needs to act as an authority figure, but otherwise he likes the relaxed look. He has this style in navy blue, white, and black jackets with matching pants, and five inner shirts of plum, canary, crimson, cobalt, and charcoal gray in colour. He is usually seen in his navy blue, and canary combination of this set. In the wintertime he keeps this look under a large brown parka, with an absurd amount of faux fur covering the edges of the hood. For special occasions he will wear his black suit combined with a red inner shirt, using his wizard's robes as a cape having modified them so they have stiffer shoulders.
”...only if the Head Mistress her self tells me to wear my wizarding robes will I do so...”
When working at Hogwarts, he'll often return to his hut covered in the dirty and dust of a good days work, which he will just casually brush off before he enters someone personal rooms, thinking the dirt to be a trophy of the day. He cleans his suits magically every night, so that the next he can get them dirty again. He rolls up his sleeves when he is working in areas that he knows he will get dirt on him, or when he is about to wrestle down someone or something.
Personality: Mister Zednik is very calm and collective, always seeming to have a smile on his face, but such a thing is commonly used as a defensive structure to hide what is truly going on behind the mask. His mind is in constant turmoil over over his past, having killed the one woman he loved on the day he thought he could never be so happy. When ever those thought come to the surface he forces a smile on, so that who ever he is smiling to will not question what is on his mind. Though he always followed his orders, the one he could not was to seek help for the traumatizing event he not only witnessed but was the cause of. To this day, though almost five years have passed, he has not dealt with this problem, and has no hopes of it going away on it's own. He has submitted to it, and just forces his smiles, to hide that it is there.
In school he was very intelligent, and because of that he though he was going to be sorted into Ravenclaw, but when the hat was put on his head and smiled, seeing something he wouldn't learn until he was of age. There was a deep courage within him, and his chivalry knew no bounds, so he was sorted into Gryffindor and was not unhappy about that choice but confused slightly. He fit in well with the others, though he kept to himself most of the time, usually having to be force to go to public events like dances and Quidditch matches. When he became a beater for the Gryffindor team he seemed to open up more, but once he learned that he was going to need good grades to become and Auror he practically never left sight of his textbooks. Thus he gained all “O's” for his grades knowing the material quite well and knowing how to apply it. This and his unbridled courage helped him join the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
Alistair has a bit of hidden flair to him, and it shows when he wields his wand. He does not hold it firmly in his hand, grasping it between the forefinger and thumb, but holds it lightly in between his middle and forefinger, supporting the hilt with his thumb. The flicks of a wizards wrists in this grasp are replaced by rubbing the hilt back and forth between the knuckles of his fingers and tilting it back and forth with his thumb. He is able to hold it the proper way, but he thinks of this as his signature move.
He is the kind of person that if some stranger comes up to him with a problem or he finds someone in such a problem he will help them, stopping what he was doing previously unless that something might cause someone harm if he stopped. The hat was right, in that his chivalry knew no bounds.
His true self comes out when he is flying, and his smile and genuine laughs of joy are music to his own soul, allowing him to forget the horrible experience he had and just let the wind rush past him and flow through his hair. Though it does upset him sometimes that he does not own a broomstick of his own.
On his 'off time' he is very laid back, and not one to punish bad behavior, being somewhat of a sprite in his 'youth', and he is not afraid to take the harsh words from other professors for doing so when he is caught. The students in his mind can do what every they want to do as long as it isn't endangering their lives or the lives of anyone else. Alistair is a firm believer that positive reenforcement is the way to handle other wizards and especially students.
Having come to Hogwarts has allowed Alistair to remind himself that he loves to work with his hands, constantly cleaning the grounds and taking care of the greens without the use of his wand, though it is always in it's sheath in case the Whomping Willow gives him trouble. Being at Hogwarts also let me feel the air running past him in flight on a broomstick, one of his favourite feelings, and one escape from the ravages of his own memory.
Alistair is not used to being around kids, though he considers all students, including seventh years, kids in his mind. He doesn't want to be just another adult that they feel they have listen to because they are forced to, but it is hard showing that sometimes.
Although he was never really afraid of anything before his time as an Auror, he is now deathly afraid of Dementors, since his mind is weak enough as it is because of his negative memories. He suspects that a kiss from one of these nightmares might be one straw too many, and drive him into madness. His other fear is Bogarts, though they are a subconscious fear, since what they turn into can mean a very real ending for Alistair.
Character Background: Alistair grew up without his birth mother, she having died shortly after his birth. So his father had to raise him alone, teaching him of values, and kindness towards others, and to especial perform even the smallest of chivalrous acts for women. His father was taught such things from his father, Alistair's grandfather, and it was passed down through many generations. In fact such an act was how Alistair's father met his mother. Alistair tried to do this for most of his life before Hogwarts, and it seemed to be a hit with the muggles, but once he got to his new school, the school where his father had met his mother, he tried too hard, and alienated himself from most of the modern girls. This made things fourth year that as part of request from an anonymous teacher that he was let onto the Quidditch Team, where given advice from his team mates he was better able to interact with girls, but still, he never met any girl that really meant something to him. This upset him since his father had met his future wife at Hogwarts and everyone seemed to be getting together with people, everyone but him. So he kept his attention on his studies for the remainder of his schooling at Hogwarts.
He graduated from Hogwarts with honors, and with his test scores and 'uncouth' bravery he became an Auror at nineteen years of age, going on many a dangerous mission with his fellow Aurors.
Soon after he met a woman, who seemed to have talent in magic, yet he did not remember seeing her at Hogwarts, and she seemed about his age, maybe a bit older. Genevieve was her name, a stunningly beautiful woman, who of all people enjoyed Alistair's chivalrous acts, even the little ones. They became romantically involved, and even though they didn't really talk about what they did, and some nights never even saw each other, Alistair was ready to marry her, but before he could do that he was sent on, what would be, his final mission.
There were rumors of a dark wizard roaming about the city, and he had been on their trail for a long time, but he could never catch them or any clue where they'd strike next, but finally he got a break. He was on his way to meet Genevieve when he say a flash of green light in one the houses he passed every day. Pulling his wand out he went in to investigate to find one of the inhabitants murdered, with no visible signs of death, and when he noticed the victim had a wand on the floor close to heir hand he knew what he had seen. He heard a struggle upstairs and rushed up there to see Genevieve using the killing curse on her other victim. His heart was broken to learn she was the dark wizard or rather witch he was chasing after, killing other wizards who she had been sent to spy on and kill. He rushed after her and disarmed her physically, breaking her wand, and when she had nothing else, she grabbed the first sharp object in sight and move to attack him. In shock, he meant to aim for her hand, to expel the object from it, but his aim was off, and he hit her in the chest with an expelliarmus, causing her to fly back and through the window behind her, falling backwards towards the ground and impaling herself on the fence. This 'broke' Alistair, and that night, after making his report, and cleaning up everything, he quit from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and found work elsewhere, trying to find happiness, his sadness hidden behind his false smile.
His only thought was to return to where he thought he would be happy, to a place where he could still keep people safe, but where he didn't have to kill to do it.
