Title: [H]Noelle Huxley

narck - May 31, 2009 10:24 AM (GMT)
    Name:

    Noelle Aleida Huxley

    Age:

    Fifteen

    Bloodline:

    Half-blood

    Physical Appearance: (no pictures*)

Noelle is a girl who has a slightly tanned, athletic frame. She is what one would call reasonably tall, standing at 5’ 6”. Her legs and torso are about even in length with the slightest curves found at her bust and waist.

Noelle has an oval-shaped face with a somewhat prominent jawbone and a nose that she thinks is a little bit on the small side. The most prominent feature is probably her stunning bright green eyes framed over by long eyelashes, topped with thin eyebrows. Noelle also has pale pink lips that are a little on the pouty side.

She has honey-blonde hair with a kind of natural brunette regrowth. Her hair generally starts out straight at the top and finishes wavy, stopping at her mid-back. Her hair is slightly layered and Noelle can sometimes be seen with side-bangs depending on her mood.

Some of Noelle’s features include her constant wearing of mascara, making her already prominent eyes stand out even more. Some people have also noted that she has a natural sweet, alluring smell about her. She also has a small star tattoo on the back of her neck – done at a muggle tattoo parlor - which not many people know she has.

    Personality:

To be quite blunt, Noelle’s personality can be a bit unpredictable. On one hand she is usually laid-back – sometimes almost to the point of being called a bit lazy – but Noelle also has a wild side to her depending on her mood. This wild mood is rare though, she is mostly mellow and easy to get along with.

Because of these traits, people often find her to be very trustworthy and loyal. Her laid-back personality generally draws people in and gets them to open up. There is something about her where people can tell she has no intention to spread rumors – which is true, she sees no point in it.

Although not obscenely smart, Noelle can be quite witty. She is an independent person with her own opinion on everything. Noelle is usually the one wanting to help other people with there problems rather then to get involved and to tangle things up. She is usually more inclined to stand up for the underdog.

But Noelle isn’t all good traits, she can often get a little lazy when it comes to her studies and isn’t afraid to be a bit outgoing and rebellious; sneaking out after curfew is a walk in the park for her. She is also quite determined in most things she does, which can be both a good and bad trait depending on the situation.

    Character Background:

Noelle was born on April 27th and is the second child of Julia and Gasper Huxley. Noelle’s parents avoided teaching her magic in her early years, learning from their mistake made with her older brother. Noelle was the favorite of the family according to onlookers, her brother had delved into dark magic at a young age and had become shunned by their parents, and although she didn’t know why she was always curious about the tension between him and their parents. But secretly, when their parents were away, he introduced Noelle to a different side of the world she didn’t know and started to teach her everything he knew about magic; without telling their parents, of course.

One fateful morning, on Noelle’s tenth birthday, she had woken up to a surprise, but it certainly wasn’t a good one. Her present from her brother, a single note left on her dresser informing her that he was gone and that he wasn’t coming back for a very long time, if ever. This was a traumatic event at her young age seeing as Noelle’s brother was her best friend and protector. This caused her to become withdrawn for a year or so until she could convince herself and others that she had to move on with her life. It was then that her parents had finally sat down and had a long [strike]talk[/strike] argument about her brother and his reasons for running away from home. After that the topic of her brother was a sour subject that they – being her parents – decided not to delve on.

Though Noelle wasn’t happy with this arrangement, she didn’t hold a grudge against her parents, she wasn’t the type of person. So the ‘happy, little family’ carried on their lives blissfully ignorant of the fact there was even another child in their family. Noelle often thought about her brother, but would never bring it up around her parents. She would wonder where he was and if he was safe, wanting to see him again…

…And hopefully she would have a chance to. That wonderful day where she received her letter, a piece of parchment with the infamous red, wax seal; she was going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her parents celebrated and gloated with all of their friends, especially those whose children would also be attending. Although a wizarding school was a foreign and strange idea to her, before she knew it she was swept up into a peculiar world beyond what she already knew.

    Roleplay Sample:

It was all a bit confusing at first. Buying all these strange items like wands, spell books and uniforms, not to mention a pet owl. Then, of course, running straight through the wall of platform nine as if there wasn’t a wall at all; it could be a little overwhelming. And so we are led to a curious Noelle standing awkwardly in the middle of platform nine and three quarters while her parents had moved a few meters away to socialize with some close friends of theirs.

Noelle leaned lazily against her luggage cart, which currently held all of her supplies for school; her parents would soon say their goodbyes to their friends before rushing over and gushing about her. Her mother in tears while her father would tell her to look after herself, it was all the same in her eyes. She pushed off of the cart and stood straight with a knowing smile as her parents started walking over.

She pretended not to have been watching them as she glanced towards the large red train opposite her. Other students, both younger and older, held either excited or sad expressions on their faces as they said there goodbyes before boarding the train; this was an experience, that’s for sure. She had to admit, it was a tad upsetting – as goodbyes often were – but she knew she would see them again; this wasn’t the end of the world.

Although, this didn’t stop her mother from treating it like so. As soon as her mother was in ranged she enveloped her daughter in a tight embrace, a few tears starting to make their way into her eyes. Noelle returned the hug, reassuring her that she would see her again soon and sealing the deal with a dazzling smile that could convince anyone.

“Be safe” Julia said, wiping her eyes with a small, green handkerchief.

Noelle nodded, “I will, don’t worry”

As the two gave each other another quick embrace, she turned to her father who had a proud smile on her face. Her mother didn’t quite understand the meaningfulness of this occasion quite like her dad, who is a wizard of pureblood heritage. It must have been nice, finally seeing a child off to the same school he had attended at this age.

A small pang was felt in Noelle’s heart as she was reminded of her brother. He had never had a chance at this, for all she knew he was at school, however he was doing it all alone and that’s where it really hit home for Noelle. Quickly moving those thoughts to the back of her mind, she focused on the task at hand. She was a different person now; she wouldn’t linger on the past. At least that’s what she thought for now.

As her parents started giving lectures and words of encouragement, Noelle couldn’t help but give out a slight harmonious laugh at how protective they were getting. The trains’ loud whistle sounded throughout the air and it finally came to Noelle that she really had to go. Grabbing her things - with some help from her dad – and hoisting them into one of the trains’ open doors, she said a last goodbye to her parents with a small wave before picking up her things and finding room in a spare compartment as the train started to roll out of the station.
