Title: Songs that go with your character...

Jo Beaumont - July 17, 2009 09:18 AM (GMT)
Just wondering if anyone had any songs which the lyrics suit the personality of your character/someone else's charrie; Because I can't help but laugh when I hear the lyrics to "Miss Vanity - Rob Mills" because it is a spot-on description of Jo.

Anyone else have anything like this?

~JB

Joshua Malone - July 17, 2009 10:26 AM (GMT)
I know what you're saying, Jo.

"If I Had" - Eminem.

That's mine.

Mina Cordova - July 17, 2009 03:54 PM (GMT)
"Animal I've Become" Three Days Grace
"Please Don't Leave Me" P!nk

Both songs are about how the people are horrible and completely evil, but that's not who they really are underneath it all. But, at the same time, the people don't seem likely to change any time soon haha.

Alistair Zednik - July 17, 2009 07:20 PM (GMT)
Viva La Vida - Coldplay

Though it is more of a metaporhical song for him, where in he felt he had everything and then it was taken away from him. So now he is starting at the bottom again remembering his truimps and his mistakes.

Joshua Malone - July 21, 2009 11:14 AM (GMT)
:o

Sounds intense.

All mine is about is Josh looking at the world and going like, "Daaaamn... this place is totally messed up lol" and all that good ol' coming-of-age nonsense. Thinking the world should be a certain way (or number of ways) versus how messed up it really is is something that Joshua totes around to make himself feel all special, to put it in a nutshell.

Kaiden Ullersay - July 24, 2009 03:53 AM (GMT)
Day & Night - Kid Cudi.

Yep XD

Byron Biswensky - August 2, 2009 09:20 PM (GMT)
Bicycle Race -- Queen.

:)

Camilla Sawyer - August 5, 2009 03:41 AM (GMT)
She's A Lady - Forever The Sickest Kids.

That song actually inspired the creation of Camilla Sawyer, hehe. :P

Willow Murtagh - August 8, 2009 05:05 PM (GMT)
Numb- Linkin Park

I freaked my parents out when I had my revelation. This song came on and I just thought of Willow and started jumping up and down screaming THATS IT!

Yuri Charivnyk - August 8, 2009 05:15 PM (GMT)
"What's My Age Again?" - blink-182

Genevieve Parker - August 8, 2009 05:45 PM (GMT)
Mr Brightside by the Killers is Gen's theme. (:

Alexandria Ericson - August 8, 2009 06:16 PM (GMT)
You Learn- Alanis Morissette

Basically, the song explains how one has to experience something to learn from it. Be it a good experience or bad. And that is what Alexandria feels. She doesn't back down or get scared of the consequences of her actions, she knows that she will gain something from it, and recommends that others let down their shields to just feel the experience to its fullest.

Nocturnius Riddle - August 21, 2009 01:40 PM (GMT)
Witch Hunt by Rush

Quick to judge, quick to anger, but slow to understand,
Ignorance and prejudice and fear walk hand-in-hand.

Beyond its obvious message, the song has a deeper meaning for Nocturnius, who is outcast by her own people for something beyond her control. Her name is enough to strike fear, anger and prejudice in others, even more than a decade after the death of the last person to bear that name.

Terry Sun - August 23, 2009 04:56 AM (GMT)
I kinda had So hot by the Wonder Girls going in my head when I wrote the prof for Terry

Two Teardrops is so sad. Always reminds me of an ex-friend of mine that loved that song.

Put all of these songs into a musical blender, remove the lid, close your eyes, and let the lyrics splash all over the walls and onto your face. This is, in essence, Perpetua's character. The angry, the insane, the loving, the hurting, the calm, the amazing and happy and balanced, and the lying aspects of her character and how she reflects and reacts to the elements around her are listed here.

Bernadette O'Flynn - June 26, 2010 06:13 PM (GMT)
Boulevard of Broken Dreams- Greenday

Bernadette really is highly alone in the world. She has few friends, nobody to turn to, and has to live by herself, alienated by abuse.

Glen Cisneros - June 26, 2010 06:33 PM (GMT)
The Protomen - The Stand (Man or Machine) was the basis of the dark period of Glen's life where he hated people, akshually.

Blueneck - Lilitu (not the lyrics, just the song) sums him up as a whole, though.

Joselyn Dupuis - July 1, 2010 11:03 PM (GMT)
LIVING IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS
by Cobra Starship

Her heart, is racing,
And the room is heating up.
And her eyes, are glazing,
But she still can't get enough.

The beat is pumping, now she's blowing up (blowing up)
The last thing on her mind is growing up (growing up)
She'll kiss the sky before she's giving up (giving up)
And oh, oh here she comes.

She's dancing with the stars,
Living in the sky with diamonds.
She's dancing with the stars,
And oh, how the lights are shining.
She has the key in her hand,
Reflection in the moon's the best thing.
She's dancing with the stars, the stars,
Keep dancing.

You can't, change her,
Cause you know you think it's hot.
And that girl, loves danger,
But she don't know when to stop.

The beat is pumping, now she's blowing up (blowing up)
The last thing on her mind is growing up (growing up)
She'll kiss the sky before she's giving up (giving up)
And oh, oh here she comes.

She's dancing with the stars,
Living in the sky with diamonds.
She's dancing with the stars,
And oh, how the lights are shining.
She has the key in her hand,
Reflection in the moon's the best thing.
She's dancing with the stars, the stars,
Keep dancing.

Gonna get you somehow,
You're gonna talk of the town.
Losing control now,
And I won't come back down.
And I hope you come down.

She's dancing with the stars,
Living in the sky with diamonds.
She's dancing with the stars,
And oh, how the lights are shining.
She has the key in her hand,
Reflection in the moon's the best thing.
She's dancing with the stars, the stars,
Keep dancing.

She's dancing with the stars,
Living in the sky with diamonds.
She's dancing with the stars,
And oh, how the lights are shining.
She has the key in her hand,
Reflection in the moon's the best thing.
She's dancing with the stars, the stars,
Keep dancing.

You Can' Take Me -- Bryan Adams

The Prayer & Flux -- Bloc Party

Nocturnius Riddle - July 9, 2010 03:29 PM (GMT)
So a lot of the things I use on this site use lyrics from Rush. ("Nocturne", which is the theme of her plot page, "Limelight", which is where her Hogwarts journal title came from, "Witch Hunt", which I mentioned in a previous post.) But my favorite one, and the one that fits best, is the one you'll find in my member title, her signature, and the title of the story about her past in the Trophy Case:

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill;
I will choose a path that's clear:
I will choose freewill.

The song as a whole is about fate ("there are those are those who think that life has nothing left to chance take..."), and especially people who think they were ill-fated from the start ("there are those who think that they were dealt a losing hand...", "a victim of venomous fate..."). The song fits Nox's mentality and history: she followed a tough act (thanks, Tom Marvolo), but that doesn't mean she has to be like him.
