Title: NaNoWriMo
Description: Anyone else?
Nocturnius Riddle - October 30, 2009 03:04 AM (GMT)
Just wondering if anyone planned on partaking in NaNoWriMo. This is my first year doing it. My friend and I are hosting writing parties where everyone sits around and brainstorms and writes and shares what they're writing.
Sophia Stark - October 30, 2009 03:17 AM (GMT)
You know what, I'm going to try it this year. I've heard about it and never really considered participating before. But after checking out the website I really think this will be a good thing for me. So, yeah, I'm gonna try!
Tycho Brynhild - October 30, 2009 03:30 AM (GMT)
I know Megan does NaNo religiously, and I'd initially thought I'd try it this year, thinking deludely that because finals weren't the last week of November anymore I'd have time in November.
HAHAHAHAHAHA no. *gets back to homework*
Michelle Enre - October 30, 2009 07:19 PM (GMT)
"religiously", Jax? Hello, I only did it last year, and I threw my whole self into it because I had nothing better to do.
Of course, I'm doing it again this year and with the same amount of energy as before. :P It'll be fun!
Sophia Stark - October 30, 2009 07:43 PM (GMT)
Sari and Megan and anyone else who decides to do NaNoWriMo should be my writing buddy on the website.
Here is my profile thing. I'm very new to this, so I can use all the help I can get!
Donovan Isaacs - October 30, 2009 08:10 PM (GMT)
I don't have enough time to keep up here and with schoolwork and IRL stuff, but I'll be trying to write and finish up some stuff I started awhile back during November to honour all you guys who are trying to make the 50,000 word mark. =)
Caspian Rousseau - October 31, 2009 04:50 PM (GMT)
ME.
THAT'S RIGHT.
I'M GOING TO DO IT.
Except I've never made it past 10K. Oh well. I've tried it twice before, but then stuff got in the way, my plot died, etc., but this year I have a SET PLOT...that I actually outlined. So I'm hoping it'll work. Hoping.
Sophia Stark - October 31, 2009 08:39 PM (GMT)
No set plot!? I'm freaking out because I don't feel like I have things outlined enough. I fully plan on starting my planning for next year on December 1st. -nods-
Ou, so what are everyone else's novels about? I'm using Sophia as an inspiration and name for one of my characters, but she has red hair. The fact that she has red hair is important, because it's a futuristic America where recessive genes have become rare and are therefore coveted. America has returned to a sort of class system where families with recessive genes are higher up on the chain.

Mine's about a girl named Spencer Cavanagh, frontwoman for a famous band called The Sirens. She goes on tour with her band and falls in love, and shenanigans ensue. <3 (And yes, it is band!fanfic. Don't judge.)
Seth Selstrom - October 31, 2009 09:58 PM (GMT)
Well, I've decided to stop being lazy and participate this year.
Here's my profile. Mine is about a kid who goes to a Halloween party up at this mansion on a hill only to find that the kids who got invited this year, have a horrifying surprise waiting for them.
Nocturnius Riddle - October 31, 2009 11:42 PM (GMT)
Mine is one I've wanted to get on paper for a while.
I hate to give it away, because I think it ruins my plans for the first chapter. :P But I'm sure no one here will ever read it, so I'll spill.
It opens with the narrator, a surgical resident (whose name I still haven't picked) getting ready for work. As she leaves the house, a series of weird things starts happening, and eventually culminates into revealing that her city (and obviously surrounding areas) are under nuclear attack. In the madness, she manages to get put in a nuclear fallout shelter with a handful of other survivors.
As time ticks away, everyone starts getting a little nutty... and they realize their supplies will last longer (and increase their chance of survival) if there are fewer of them to share them. It turns into a vicious witch hunt, with everyone ganging up against each other as they decide who deserves to live and who should be cast out to die in the radioactive environment in order to extend supplies.

I...don't want to tell you guys about it...'cause you'll just laugh...
OH, but if you want to add me, I'm halcyonday. Cheers! ;D
Nocturnius Riddle - November 1, 2009 09:58 PM (GMT)
If you want to add me... I'm...
NOCTURNIUS
YES, IT'S SURPRISING, I KNOW.

Coco has one she doesn't use <3
hypermonkey
No, that's not a link. Look it up, you lazy bums <33333
Charisse Mapplebeck - November 2, 2009 08:37 AM (GMT)
I will do it some year but it is not happening this year.
Lucy Winkleman - November 2, 2009 12:37 PM (GMT)
whoa...I never even heard of this until now. But yeah, I'm a wee bit too busy reading and writing boring 20,000 word papers about dead old English dudes to have time to write for fun! :( Stupid graduate school.
Caspian Rousseau - November 2, 2009 09:01 PM (GMT)
CAN I JUST RANT HERE FOR A BIT?
I WORKED REALLY HARD ON MY SECOND CHAPTER AND HIT 5K.
THEN MS WORD DID SOMETHING STUPID.
AND I LOST ALL THE BEST BITS OF IT.
WOE IS ME. D: -sob-
...by all means, continue on...
Donovan Isaacs - November 2, 2009 09:46 PM (GMT)
*hugs Lily* You needed that. *offers cookies to everyone, regardless of whether they're doing NaNo this year or not*
Michelle Enre - November 2, 2009 10:26 PM (GMT)
I'm almost an entire day behind in my NaNo, and I don't have a lot of time to write the rest of it. BUT I WILL PREVAAAAAAIL *falls over*
Nocturnius Riddle - November 2, 2009 11:58 PM (GMT)
Currently at 4740, but I still have about 700 words until I meet tonight's goal, so... Make that 5206.
*trudges on*
Sophia Stark - November 3, 2009 12:50 AM (GMT)
I didn't hit my goal last night and I probably won't today either. I can't think of a solid plot and it's killing me, cause I don't know where I'm going with anything I'm writing. AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
Cloe Carrigen - November 3, 2009 05:24 AM (GMT)
In retrospect, I really should have done this since I am still out of commission for soccer and I'm getting SO BORED. But I'm already two days behind, a generally lazy person, and dying from school. haha.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE THOUGH! I wish you the best. You're all champs in my book. <3
Caspian Rousseau - November 3, 2009 09:24 PM (GMT)
...I FINALLY WROTE AN OUTLINE.
AND I hit 7K. That's more than I did last year
and the year before that. PUT TOGETHER.
I feel like singing. v__v
