Title: Krystinia Graham

Krystinia Graham - November 3, 2009 09:28 PM (GMT)
Name: Krystinia Graham
House: Hufflepuff

Physical Appearance:
Krystinia has a fair complexion -- caused mainly by genetics and the lack of sunlight she receives -- that is matched by her hazel eyes and blonde hair. She has rather long hair, but it is kept that way only to please her mother. More often than not it is pulled back, braided, or pinned out of the way in order to keep it from falling into her face throughout the day. Her facial features are rather pretty, but Krystinia doesn’t always see them that way. When describing herself, she’ll often make negative comments about her prominent nose, small eyes, and dimples. Even so, she doesn’t completely dislike her appearance. She’s more confident about her body.

Standing at 5’1” and weighing in at one hundred pounds, Krystinia is a very tiny when compared to others her age. She does have some noticeable curves, but she’s a bit too skinny for much else. Her light build assists her in athletics, but otherwise it tends to be a disadvantage. She often gives off a weak appearance that is pretty accurate when it comes to her physical strength. Krystinia has difficulty carrying around just her schoolbooks, so a physical fight would most definitely end with her losing.

Personality:
Overall, Krystinia can be described as a sensitive, caring, and susceptible person. She isn’t very judging and tries to accept people for who they are; sadly, this tends to land her in some difficult situations. The fact that she attempts to befriend and care for most people definitely causes her to receive some backlash from them. And, unfortunately, her reaction is normally less than pleasurable. She’s very emotional, and Krystinia tends to take most things to heart, so it’s extremely easy for her to break out into tears. Thankfully, she normally can bounce back from her previous state.

When it comes to her fears, they tend to take over her desires when she’s confronted with them. She suffers from a few common phobias: the dark and thunderstorms. Krystinia reverts to childish actions when faced with them, and she commonly tries to avoid getting into situations that would cause them to be brought up. Similarly, she tries to push away her worries. Getting her to discuss them is a great task, and more often than not she’ll attempt to change the subject. She prefers listening to others over talking about her own difficulties.

Krystinia is the type of person you can tell everything to and will take it to her grave. It’s easy to see that she’s extremely faithful to those that she cares for and won’t abandon them for anything. If called for help, she’d come with no questions asked; it’s not like her to form an opinion based on first impressions.

Character Background:
Born to two muggles, Krystinia was raised without any knowledge of the wizarding world. Her father, a pediatrician, worked most of the days, while her mother stayed home and took care of Krystinia and her older brother, Kristian.

She and her brother attended their small town’s public school, and they were educated in everything they thought they’d need for their future jobs. But things took a bit of her turn when her brother received his letter from Hogwarts. The shock was evident in the household for week followings, but her mother was the first recover. She was the one who took him to Diagon Alley to buy his supplies, the one who offered support, and the person who was there through the fear and tears. Her father, on the other hand, immersed himself in work and was scarcely seen other than when it was meal time. So when Kristian was shipped off, to say Krystinia was upset would be an understatement. The promises to write weekly did nothing to ward off the waterworks. It wasn’t until she received her own acceptance letter three years later that her spirits returned to their previous self.

Through letters and multiple “borrowed” textbooks, Krystinia was brought into the wizarding world. It pained her that her brother was magical while she was a muggle, so when that Hogwarts owl brought two letters instead of one, she was just floored. Her father’s reaction wasn’t much different than when he found out his only son was a wizard, but her mother’s was the polar opposite. It may have been the fact that her baby girl was leaving her, or that both of her children were going to be gone for months at a time, but either way she was completely hysterical. But, like a good parent does, she pulled herself together and supported her children.

Her parents views on their children’s magic caused tension between them, but they remained together for reasons that Krystinia didn’t then understand. They rarely fought in front of Krystinia and Kristian, but the stress that lingered in the air affected everyone. The mood in the household led to Krystinia choosing to spend most holidays at Hogwarts instead of at home, and Kristian remained in order to keep her company. It was easy to see then that Krystinia’s relationship with her family members changed drastically because of magic. Her father was no longer the supportive daddy he used to be, her mother stepped up and became much more of a role model, and her brother was now so much more than just her brother.
