Name: Quintina Hughes
Age: 15
Bloodline: Half-Blood
Physical Appearance: Dispite the compliments and flattery she sometimes gets, Quin really gorgueos. Though she can sometimes be pretty, in general a lot of the cloths she wears can be unflattering because she doesn't fill them out well. Quin is very thin, with a pretty average cup size of 34B. She has a runners build with legs that are a bit longer then her torso, and she tans pretty easily so her skin tone ranges from light to median based on the time of year.
Naturally curly, Quin magically straightens it each morning so it's easier to manage (at home she uses a flat iron). When she was younger her hair was very light, but darkened over the last couple of years at the roots. She takes good care of it, so it's pretty silky, and sometimes she'll let the other girls in her dorm play with it. This has led to some very interesting hairdos in her day (one of the more interesting ones was having her hair with seven different of varying thicknesses and lenghs because they were all braided by a different girl). Her braces come from the fact that her father is a muggle-born who's parents own a dental practice. They aren't that bad, though every year has to explain to new students what exactly that strange metal contraption is on her teeth. She's only got about a year and a half left before she get them taken off.
Quin's eyes are greyish-blue, she wears glasses because she's very farsided, and has yet to really get the hand of contacts (she won't even consider magical correction though it has several times been suggested to her).
Personality: A lot of Quin's attribute are inherent in her family tree, good and bad. From her father, she get's a general easy goingness and a willingness to look towards the good of a situation. Unfortunately, she also gains a bit of laziness as well, particularly in areas that seem more menial and less practical. This habit has made her have to play catch up with some help from her friends several times. From her mother, it's more or less a stuborness to try and include people. Her mother came from a large family, and she herself has an older (much older), and two younger siblings. So she feels best when she's with other people, or in a crowd, and doesn't like to isolate others. This can sometimes present some unintended pushiness to people who don't nessicarily want to be included in some of the activities she and her friends try to come up with.
Quin doesn't lose her temper often, even when she does it's a bit subtle. With the help of her older sibling (who has already graduated, but has persued a muggle career), she knows a number of nasty spells that she has learned to turn effectively on anyone who has made her snap. If that wasn't enough, she is pretty fast, and will chase someone down for a while if they have upset her or her friends. Though sometimes during the chase she'll forget what she was planning to do for payback, anything new she makes up will most likely not be very pleasant once she has caught you.
Character Background: Her father, Felix Hughes, was surprised when he got his letter in the mail. Her mother, Angela Hughes, was most certianly surprised when her father told her what he was by levitating an engagement ring. Quin however, was never really surprised by magic. She has, more or less accepted magic as something mundane, though fantastical, she really couldn't of imagined life without it. That sort of thinking made it hard when she was younger, they lived in a mixed community, where she had friends of both magical and muggle heritage and it was always strange to her why it had to be a secret. Even so, when her older brother went off to magic school, it wasn't a surprise when later she herself got a letter.

Though it wasn't anything new, there was a sense of urgency in the squeaking of the wheels on her buggy. Somehow or another, something always seemed to happen every time they made there way to the platform, and it wasn't only her. On the way to Kings Crossing, there were traffic jams, the need for bathroom brakes, flat tires, it was the same for David, and at some point he suggested that one of us were causing it. As she went, she looked back for a second eyeing the twins who were holding onto her mother's skirt as she went ahead. Maybe they really were causing it. She didn't know really, they were both only nine, and since half the kids they played with were from other families with magical histories it was hard to tell who caused what random accident. Either way, it wouldn't stop her, she didn't want to miss it because even though there probably were other ways to get to Hogwarts, this was the only one where she got to spend the most time with her friends.
The whole trainride was just a huge mess of conversation and catching up. Quin didn't own an owl, so she couldn't send messages as easily as most of them, so she had to listen to make sure she was filled in. One of her friends had gone through three boyfriends over the summer. How, Quin wasn't sure, but given she had photographic evidence she didn't doubt it. Listening to the tales, Quin provided her own with a couple of still and moving pictures of her relatives. She had nieces now, and it was funny having to actually take care of them. The other girls all took turns saying how cute they were as they passed them around, while others pulled out more of there own photos. It wasn't long until they were having a whole gallery full of photos being passed around, someone suggested they started a club for making picture albums. Quin chimed in thinking it was neat, but as a whole it was shot down because of the fact most of them wouldn't have time. Supposedly, they were all going to be very busy this year with the O.W.L.S.
It hadn't changed at all, but it never seemed to change. She doubted much in the castle actually ever changed, it had been nearly completely destroyed once, and then completely remade, and even then barely anything was different. The self-moving carriages walked over to the castle slow, and Quin continued to chatter with her friends. This continued all the way into the Great Hall, only pausing for Headmistress's opening speech, and then went on through dinner and when they got over to the common's room. It was about that time that everyone of course started getting tired, so they moved to there beds. Quin wasn't that tired though, so she and a few other girls started to show off some of the new clothes they got over the summer from there trunks. When they got to bed, she couldn't say, but she really didn't care as she rested her head on the pillow it was good to be back at Hogwarts.
Congratulations! You have been sorted into Gryffindor. Welcome to Wizarding Realm!
In light of the fact that you are new, here are a few bits of information that will help you on your journey to greatness. :)
Introduction Topic: One of the greatest ways to get to know other members (aside from RPing of course) is to make an intro topic. You can do that
here. Post so that you may be properly welcomed!
The Ranking System: In an effort to help you reach your greatest writing potential, WR has instituted ranks. You start out as a beginner. Once you create three topics and put your application up for review, you will most likely be bumped up to novice. Once you reach that level, more forums in Hogwarts open up to you. Such as... the plotting pages and the journals. After that, you can pursue higher ranks; They are Intermediate, Advanced, and Elite. More detailed information and applications can be found
here.
The Clash: Fast forward several years into the future, after your character has graduated from Hogwarts and had a little time to live. Two groups, The Guardians and Vesithe, are at war with each other. Another group called the Vigilante are neutral and work to stop the fighting. This is an ongoing plot that is seperate from the rest of the WR Roleplaying. You must have 50 posts to join, but that's not that hard! :P
Other Information: The signature limit is currently 500x250. Annnd colors are not to be used in your roleplaying posts. We have a skin changer and several different color skins. What might look good on one skin could be unreadable on another. Oh oh, and if you are already a member of WR, and have not gotten permission for having this character from Sundari Harmony, you better do so quick or feel her wrath. xD
Thanks so much for joining and we all hope to see you stay!
