Title: Daniel Brewington

Daniel Brewington - January 31, 2010 04:25 PM (GMT)
Name: Daniel Brewington

House: Slytherin

Physical Appearance:

Daniel is structured like your average thirteen-year old boy. He has a petite build and lacks any form of muscle definition. What’s not average about Daniel is his skin tone. He is so white some might think that he lacks any form of skin pigment. Daniel has dark brown hair that he keeps short and neat. He slightly spikes the hair towards his face, and will occasionally dye it different colors. His eyes are a dark brown, and normally appear very glossy. Daniel makes sure to maintain his looks and keeps his eyebrows plucked and even, his teeth white, and his face clean and clear.

When he is not wearing robes for school or formal events Daniel chooses to display a more sophisticated style of clothing. He routinely tries to keep his wardrobe up-to-date with the latest styles from top, but affordable, designers. Most often he can be seen wearing dress pants, shirts, and shoes with perfectly sized blazers and the “correct” accessories.

Personality:

Daniel Brewington is a brat… not only is he a brat, but he an arrogant brat. Or at least that is how many other kids who haven’t gotten to know him describe him. It is true that Daniel can be slightly uptight and melodramatic about things. He often complains about minor details of his life like the taste of his food or the lighting of a room when in actuality he doesn’t really care. It’s just Daniel’s own special way of filling silence. Daniel can also be a bit of a snob, primarily when it comes to appearance. He chooses to dress in the highest standards of fashion and expects the same from everyone else, or at least the first time he meets them. Normally after a few days though he backs off and lets his acquaintances wear what they want. As far as the word arrogant goes Daniel is not … well … entirely arrogant in all senses of the word. Egotistical would be how he describes him self, and he would do it with great pride. Daniel loves himself and is proud to show he loves himself.

After getting to know Daniel, however, most people find him very friendly. However, his egotistical nature has kept him from forging very strong relationships, even with his family. Therefore in many cases Daniel has given up trying to forge these relationships. He is often plagued with the feeling of being alone, but feels an inability to change. Daniel also comes from a bloodline of purely oblivious men. He, just like his father and his father’s father, has no sense of what someone is feeling unless they spell it out for him. While this normally is another hindrance to Daniel’s ability to forge relationships it has come in handy in his life by allowing him to not get attached to anyone throughout the constant moving.

Character Background:

Daniel was born in Madrid, Spain on July 18th to Gregory and Martha Brewington. They were on vacation visiting Martha’s parents when Martha went into premature labor. Gregory and her parents rushed her to the nearest hospital where she gave birth. Daniel luckily came out fine with no visible complications, and was soon returning home with his parents. It was in this home that Daniel would spend the next and possibly the most important years of his life. He began at an early age to discover his passion for fashion. Once he was old enough to understand clothing he wouldn’t let anyone else dress him. It was a few years later when he began to understand colors, and from that day on he never wore anything that clashed.

Around the age of seven he began to notice something strange about himself. While all the other boys in school were talking about the girls and how some had cooties and others did not, Daniel preferred to do the same things only with boys. Although, it would be a few more years until Daniel realized this made him gay. In the mean time Daniel just shrugged it off as him just being different. It was around this time that Daniel began to learn to love himself. He saw himself as different, but he liked being different. At the time he didn’t feel like he had to justify himself to anyone, and so he didn’t. He acted as if everyone saw in him the same things he saw in himself.

A few years later Gregory Brewington was promoted to a high position in his company, which over the years had gone national. This meant two things for Daniel. The first one being that he could now afford to buy the designer clothes he wanted to wear. The second was that Daniel and his family would never spend more than eight months in the same house again. Daniel’s father had to constantly move from area to area in order to help various parts of his company grow. Daniel, however, never was in one place long enough to really root down and so he eventually gave up. He did learn many different things in his travels though, the most important being the word gay. However, he still did not feel any need to tell his parents, he figured they knew and so kept on living his life.

When Daniel turned eleven years old and received his letter from Hogwarts he cried. If the fact that he was going to have to wear black robes was bad wasn’t enough, he had still not told his mother and father about his sexuality. His indifference had disappeared the second he realized that he was leaving, and it was replaced with fear. He had discovered that his parents didn’t know he was gay when they kept trying to introduce him to girls. Now he was scared of the rejection his parents might have. He swore that before he left he would tell them, but as he got onto the train his first year he looked back at them and couldn’t. He went through the next few years of his life at Hogwarts embracing the gay boy he truly was by coming out to his friends and even random strangers, but every time he went back home he still found it impossible to tell his parents.
