Sorry about the down time everyone. We had some problems with a hacker. We'll try and recover as much as we can, but for now just continue about your normal business. If you find yourself with an increased warning level from yesterday, please PM a mod and we will fix it.

Also, don't forget to apply for teaching positions and prefects!

Blyssenor Wright - May 24, 2007 12:52 AM (GMT)
Don't forget the party! Click!

And also, please read this topic and respond.

Thanks! :)

Sundari Harmony - May 27, 2007 06:10 AM (GMT)
Please be sure to apply for teaching positions! We need to fill MANY many more. Go apply! You can still apply for prefect too :)

Blyssenor Wright - June 1, 2007 05:14 AM (GMT)
'Ello guys. :) Just a few things:

Quidditch Applications are now being accepted! Please go here and post yours! The deadline is June 8th at Midnight, Central Standard Time.

The Theatre is back! Nominations for a new production are being accepted here! The deadline is also June 8th at Midnight, CST.

The Furry Onion Awards are currently being revised. They will soon be posted for nominations so keep an eye out for them! ^___^

Keep applying for professors! We need many, many more.

Sundari Harmony - June 4, 2007 11:23 PM (GMT)
We REALLY need more teachers to apply! If we don't get more applications, we may end up not even having classes this term. Term starts on Saturday, our anniversary!

Get those apps in!

Sundari Harmony - June 13, 2007 09:40 PM (GMT)
Just a quick reminder -

I've been seeing a lot of blunders in RPs lately. A few points need to be highlighted:
*No using color in RP posts/editing font
*Do not copy and paste what the person before you wrote to reply to it. Find a creative way to respond to it. It ends up making your post look longer than it is, when really it's only half the size.

For now those are the big things I'm seeing. Be careful and happy posting!

Oh! And go sign up for quidditch! I'm pretty sure there are some Gryffindors that are ready to throw some bludgers at people ;)

Sundari Harmony - June 21, 2007 10:23 PM (GMT)
Hey everyone, I just added OOC Gender and IC Relationship status to the sidebar info. This can be edited in the profile info part of your control panel :)

Also, I've added a general character forum. The avatar claims are now in there, along with the power registry. In there you can have member/character polls, character discussions, etc.

Sundari Harmony - July 9, 2007 03:03 AM (GMT)
Another quick reminder-

If you wish to have a second account, you MUST get permission from me, and only me. I keep a list of all the double characters. If you are caught with a second account and I didn't know about it, you may be in a wee bit of trouble :P So yea, ASK ME!

Rei Stronski - July 15, 2007 02:32 AM (GMT)
All right.
I just got done doing a sweep of all of the forums here at lovely WR. I've moved all old topics to the graveyard to make WR more organized and easier to navigate. I've moved all topics in which the most recent post dated back to February or March of this year. If I moved a topic that you want placed back in the correct forum, don't hesitate to PM me and hit me with a fish until I move it. If I missed a topic or two, it'd be nice if you could PM me about that as well.

Of course, I left some forums alone. Like The Clash forums for instance. I didn't want to touch those in case they decided to use them for something. I didn't touch anything in the trophy case, either. Because it's a trophy case. Dur. So, don't PM me asking me to move topics and such from those types of forums to the graveyard.

Enjoy, loves.

Sundari Harmony - July 17, 2007 05:28 AM (GMT)
No posting spoilers without warnings! If you do you will be suspended until after the book release.

EDIT: It's suggested that you change your password to a high-security password. You know the drill: no dictionary words, character names, phone numbers, etc. Use symbols, lowercase and uppercase, and have at least 8 characters.

Sundari Harmony - July 19, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
To all NEW members-

We will not be sorting anybody until probably Saturday. You can post your form if you like, but you will not be able to post anywhere else until you're sorted. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we want to keep spammers from joining to post spoilers.

Sundari Harmony - July 19, 2007 05:18 AM (GMT)
Lately I've been seeing some sigs that push the rules. I'd suggest reviewing the sig rules under the Graphics category here.

Blyssenor Wright - July 21, 2007 03:41 AM (GMT)
So just to repeat what I've said several times. The ONLY place you are allowed to discuss Deathly Hollows for at least a month is the official topic I made in the forum. Here is a link: Clicky

To Reiterate, that thread is ONLY for people who have COMPLETELY finished the book. Nothing shall be posted elsewhere, including the shoutbox. If I see it anywhere else... there will be dire consequences that consist of either mod post approval for a certain amount of time, or a semi-ban for two weeks. I am not playing around with this. As i said in the discussion thread, I do NOT want this spoiled for others. This is the last HP book, afterall.

If anyone does see something being posted where it isn't supposed to be, PM me with evidence. That means something along the lines of a link, a screenshot, etc.

Thanks :)

Sundari Harmony - July 29, 2007 03:30 AM (GMT)
Tycho Brynhild has graciously accepted the position of Head Boy. Please be very respectful and patient with him, along with the rest of the staffers.

Congrats Tycho, you'll be great! :)

Sundari Harmony - September 8, 2007 03:20 AM (GMT)
Hey everyone! Don't forget to apply for teachers! We still need a few more spots filled. Don't be shy to apply even if someone else has already applied for the spot We'll take the most qualified person, or if the other person applied for two we'll give you one spot and them the other.

Also be sure to put the Post-A-Thon on your calender for next week! Let's try and make this a huge success :)

ATTN: All Wizarding Realm students

Hogwarts has been placed under quarantine due to an outbreak of a previously discovered magical disease. The symptoms of this disease are similar to that of a mild cold, with the addition of extreme variations in magical abilities. Sudden explosions of magical energy have been reported in the infected: werewolves have spontaneously changed form, Metamorphmagi can not control their feature-changing, and even the mundane students take a great risk whenever they cast a spell.

The Headmistress of Wizarding Realm requests that all students help determine how the disease started and its source so that a cure may be found.

----

Yep! It's a plot! Welcome to the Great Plague. If your character comes down with the disease, you'll receive notification by PM from either me or Avi (Joshua Malone). Try and figure out where it's coming from so we can stop it!

Sundari Harmony - November 10, 2007 12:08 AM (GMT)
THIS WEEKEND ONLY:

From now through Sunday night, for each post you make you will receive two house points. The one who posts the most at the end of the weekend wins bragging rights for the top poster of the weekend :P

At the end of the weekend, PM me with the number of RP posts you made! ^__^

Eilidh Sutherland - November 12, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
The Theatre's back in action. If your character has a bent for the dramatic, it'd be fantastic to see them on stage!

Eilidh's holding IC auditions HERE, and I'd love to find out how much you WRians know about theatre OOCly HERE.

We're doing Macbeth, which is actually going to be loads of fun to put on in a wizarding school. Even if you think you don't like Shakespeare, you should still get your character involved--a cross-WR production? Think of the possibilities! Not to mention there's that little plague going around...

More information about our dear Mr. Mac as well as theatre in general can be found here:

Edit: As an unrelated aside--if you have any strong thoughts about the Sorting process, please help me out! http://wizardingrealm.net/index.php?showtopic=8052

Jessa Diluke - December 17, 2007 09:08 PM (GMT)
Okay, so a lot of you new members might not know who I am, but thats okay because I'm going to fix that. I'm going to start being more active on here, but it's difficult sharing one computer with 6 other people. Without giving you my life story, lets just say I dont know where I'm going to live a year from now, and I dont know where my boyfriend will be a month from now. So, in a nut shell, you can sort of see that I'm very stressed at home. That has not given me the oppurtunity to be on the computer as much as I like. I am only pressing this matter, for the simple fact that I cannot say this, without being an ass and not doing it myself:

we would really super duper appreciate it if you guys became more ACTIVE!*gasp* yes the word may sound weird and strange, because it's a very rare thing around here, as I'm seeing. But guys, in order to make this a more productive board, we need people to ROLEPLAY and COMMUNICATE not just LURK.

*sigh*

I think I'm done

Tycho Brynhild - January 13, 2008 10:52 AM (GMT)
You asked for it and we've delivered-

Winter Short-Season Quidditch!

Captains are carrying over from last term with the exception of one-

Ravenclaw: Eilidh Sutherland
Slytherin: Tycho Brynhild
Gryffindor: Cloe Carrigen
and welcoming...
Hufflepuff: Serena Bell

More information is to follow, but for now, we need your help- go to your respective Quidditch pitches and post a try-out! Let's get Quidditch off the ground!

Tycho Brynhild - January 18, 2008 11:07 AM (GMT)
SHORT-SEASON QUIDDITCH BEGINS NEXT FRIDAY!

At 6 AM EST on January 25, the starting topics for

Ravenclaw vs. Gryffindor

and

Hufflepuff vs. Slytherin

will go up, and the captains will receive their final scores and instructions on what to do with them.

At 12 PM EST, the topics will be unlocked and play will begin!

At 12 AM EST January 27, the topics will be closed, regardless of whether play has ended or not!

Get ready for the first Quidditch post-a-thon!

Eilidh Sutherland - January 19, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
Over the next few days, we will be cleaning out the older topics from the RP forums. They will move to the RP section of the Graveyard. You will still be able to see them, but you won't be able to post if you wish to keep RPing in them. Report any missing threads that you intend to restart HERE.

Tycho Brynhild - January 25, 2008 02:46 PM (GMT)
Short-season Quidditch is up! All Captains have the scripts for the two games. Let's get out on the pitch and play!

Tycho Brynhild - February 2, 2008 08:32 AM (GMT)
The first short-season Quidditch game is over!

FINAL SCORE: RAVENCLAW 290, GRYFFINDOR 270

Gryffindor’s Chasers easily dominated the impaired Ravenclaw Keeper, Eilidh Sutherland, however, a lucky gust of wind ended a Seeker’s duel between the Ravenclaw Seeker and newcomer Brodie Daniels in favor of the boy in blue. Gryffindor’s Chasers, particularly Captain Cloe Carrigen and veteran Alli Brooks, are a force to be contended with, and the Slytherin and Hufflepuff captains would do well to prepare for them! Beater Riley Autumns scored some spectacular hits, and his counterpart on the Ravenclaw side, Yuri Charivnyk, matched him blow for blow.

FINAL SCORE: SLYTHERIN 280, HUFFLEPUFF 220

In another example of why Seekers make the game what it is, Tycho Brynhild again pulled the Slytherin team out from far behind with one of his trademark catches of the Snitch. Hufflepuff Seeker Luke Remington, who seemed to be on top of the Snitch most of the game, never saw it coming. Hufflepuff’s Chasers put up an excellent effort against veteran Keeper Rei Stronski, who played to her typical high standard but was impaired by the early loss of Slytherin Beater Wallace Smith. Beater Joshua Malone did his best to Beat for two, but he came up performing at about one-and-a-half. New Keeper and Hufflepuff Captain Serena Bell and former Keeper, current Beater Bryon Biswensky were playing like pros against the Slytherin Chasers, keeping them down to only 13 goals. Veteran Michelle Enre scored the majority of the goals for Slytherin, with new student Devyn Sewan contributing. Delaney Gale came out of the game with only one goal but ten assists.

The current Quidditch Cup standings are:
Ravenclaw in the lead with 290
Slytherin close behind with 280
Gryffindor nipping at their heels with 270
Hufflepuff still in the running with 220.

Captains, look for your next scripts Budapest evening. The next games- Ravenclaw/Slytherin and Hufflepuff/Gryffindor- will open tomorrow and run until next Saturday!

Sundari Harmony - February 4, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
Thank you very much to Eol for cleaning out the forums for us. You can still view your old topics in the Graveyard. She even took the time to put the name of the origin of the thread in the topic title.

So now many of the forums have little or no topics! What does this mean? Well, you can only guess! YOU NEED TO POST! (You might even look out for a post-a-thon in the near future ;) )

Sundari Harmony - February 7, 2008 10:15 PM (GMT)
Hey everyone,

We might be experiencing some downtime sometime in the near future because we are upgrading to Zetaboards, yay!

At that time I'm probably going to re-organize some things and revamp the site. The board will be offline for awhile, but don't fret! It shouldn't take me too long to get everything going again.

They didn't give me a time that we'd be converting, but hopefully it's within the next couple of days!

Rei Stronski - February 10, 2008 03:09 PM (GMT)
You Are Cordially Invited...

What? The Valentine's Ball
Where? The Dance Hall
When? February 12th - 24th
Why? The lovely masters of Hogwarts have decided to treat their students to a wonderful time. Filled with dancing, food, merriment, and a healthy dose of drama. All students years one through seven are eligible to attend. All we ask is that you bring your good attitudes and dancing shoes!

Jessa Diluke - February 15, 2008 10:04 PM (GMT)
In order to have a ball, people need to SHOW UP

Go click so we can move up! :)

It's also the first button in the scrolling affiliates.

Eilidh Sutherland - March 20, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
All teachers, please remember that it is against WR policy to take house points away for inactivity in classes. You can assign characters detentions, but you'll have to find some other way to motivate people to post in lessons. It isn't fair to those of us who have busy IRL classes to be penalized for not taking part in fun IC classes.

Thanks, and enjoy the new term! :D

Sundari Harmony - March 21, 2008 04:09 AM (GMT)
Hey everyone, I've noticed the signatures getting a little questionable in size. Please just keep in mind the sig rules, listed here.

Thanks!

Lily Evans - March 22, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
A lovely group of /b/tards have hacked the domain name for WR, as well as the main zeta/invisionfree boards. We'll figure out how to get the domain back up and hackersafe asap. Please alert anyone on WR that you have contact info of that we're still up and running through the z8.invisionfree server, just not the domain.

As for all of anon(YMOUS), I would like to say ANON IS NOT AN ARMY, DO NOT ACT AS SUCH BECAUSE YOU MAKE EPIC FAIL ALL NIGHT. It kind of defeats the purpose to shout out to the abyss. Wow.

Thanks.

edit:

all better. :)

Sundari Harmony - March 23, 2008 05:12 AM (GMT)
Hey everyone, the domain is up and running again. However, if you still can't access the site through it, there is still the IF link.

wizardingrealm.net -- Our Domain
z8.invisionfree.com/Wizarding_Realm -- IF link

Sundari Harmony - March 23, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
Hey everyone! Lately people have been asking for WR's plot. Well, I found it! I moved it to the Ministry Files. It was written by our dear Blair so very long ago, and it's too crazy to try and come up with something else :P

So, here you go!

Hogwarts: The UnHistory

Tycho Brynhild - March 24, 2008 12:13 AM (GMT)
Since the last Quidditch games LANGUISHED (yes, I do like capitalizing that), I've assigned arbitrary point values based on who actually posted:

SLYTHERIN 290 - RAVENCLAW 110
GRYFFINDOR 220 - HUFFLEPUFF 90

The current Quidditch Cup standings are:
Slytherin = 570
Gryffindor = 490
Ravenclaw = 400.
Hufflepuff = 310.

The last game of the short-season is RIVALRY GAMES. Look out for Gryffindor/Slytherin and Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff in a few days. Spring season will start April 1.

Tycho Brynhild - March 29, 2008 07:58 PM (GMT)
The final Quidditch games of the short-season are up! Remember, you get BONUS HP for posting in a Quidditch thread, even if you're not on the field- so spectators are welcome!

New try-out threads will be up soon. These will likely be only to replace inactive members of the short-season roster. In the event that there are more players than positions, Quidditch captains will have the final decision on who takes what position. I suggest a combination of IC suitability and OOC post quality: remember, game posts mean bonus HP!
