The seventh movie is going to be split into two movies - HArry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I (Released November 2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (Released May 2011)

Not too sure how I feel about this ...

Samantha Davis - March 13, 2008 07:11 PM (GMT)
I heard that too. -sniffle- We have to wait that long for the ending?!

I think its a good thing,

Honestly, I'd gladly sit through a 6 hour HP movie just to see it done RIGHT. None of this Hollywood crap thats been spewing out of WB studios since the first director quit.

At least with two movies they might actually follow the book, bout time in my opinion.

I am so happy about this. If they cut anything from the seventh book I would kill someone. So now they can include everything.

YEAHHHH BABY <3333

I agree Mere. It's sort of impossible for them to cut anything, right? AT LEAST NOTHING will be cut this time, and pretty much MORE POTTER ACTION = LOVE. I hope they film them both at the same time, though, because otherwise the actors are going to look way too old. Like what they did with Pirates of the Caribbean, maybe.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Excellent idea dear Watson.

I know it's really cool to have a 6 hour DH but where are they going to split it. Just from memory the middle of the book is where it hits a kind of lull.

Serena Bell - March 14, 2008 05:18 AM (GMT)
Well, maybe they will divide it at a lull so it's like an ending....I don't know, you have a point. Maybe at the Gringotts part?

Rachel Bluebird - March 15, 2008 03:21 AM (GMT)
I was just listening to an old Pottercast where they discuss it. And actually half way through the book is the chapter "The Silver Doe" so they could finish after Godrics Hollow, that could be like a mini final battle, and you'd be left on the cliffhanger of "Will Ron come back?"

If you follow the blog link, the writer suggests Shell Cottage as a movie splitter. Y'know, the scene where Harry buries Dobby. I believe the reason behind this suggestion is because of the apparently pivotal moment in the book where Harry must decided: Horcruxes or Hallows?

So it's be as followed:
Wand swap at the Malfoy Manor
Burying Dobby at Shell Cottage (The split would occur after seeing a tear-streaked Potter... suddenly, as he comes to a realization, his fists curl and he raises his head. dundundun!)
And then returning to witness the break-in to Gringotts.
-Nods-

Indeed. Oh, god, I'm hellllllllllllla freaking excited.

Seth Selstrom - March 15, 2008 03:50 AM (GMT)
OMG it's such a good idea but i hate it. I would rather sit through the whole thing after they make it just so i dont have to wait. grrrrrr it's gonna kill me to wait so long for the ending.

Evan Demetrius - March 15, 2008 12:49 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I just don't understand why they can't just make it one looong movie. They had no problem doing that with LOTR III - It wasn't quite six hours, but it felt like it!!

But I do agree with what Daniel Radcliffe said - That the Seventh Book was one long plotline with very few sub-plots. However, some of the sub-plots that are wrapped up in the book were not included in the movies. Things such as Kretcher's betrayal in book five ...

But I am still pumped for the sixth one. I can't WAIT to see Alan Rickman become evil at the end!

Oh, I knowwwwwww! Hella juiced. It's gonna be good, but sad.

I don't mind, 6 hours of harry Potter, dream come true!!! they can't leave anything out now, I wish they'd make all the movies like 6 hours long so they can't leave nothin out! I would so watch 6 hours of Harry Potter

I'm not all too thrilled about it, but I suppose it would be a good way to keep up with the suspense. It really got me wondering where the first movie would end and where the second would pick up; like if it would be a 'cliffhanger', so to speak, until the second movie came along and finished it up.

I dunno. I'm sort of neutral about it right now. It sort of depends on how things are made. *palms up*

Brodie Daniels - March 19, 2008 01:45 AM (GMT)
you've got a point there, it'll drive people nuts if there's a cliffhanger, but I guess that's what they want. i wish they'd just make a REALLY long 7th movie =)

Serena Bell - March 19, 2008 04:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah, but Hollywood is LAME. They want us to get less bang for our buck by having to go to 2 movies, buy 2 DVDs, etc.
