Title: Justin Grace
Description: Ghost History

Justin Grace - December 25, 2008 10:10 PM (GMT)
Name: Justin Grace
Age:23
Bloodline: Muggle Born
Physical Appearance: Justin isn't overly extravagant. Standing at five foot ten, though he would lead you to believe and even six feet, he really isn't the tallest man on the planet. His hair is generally only a couple of inches in length and he likes to keep it nice and neat. Usually you can see that it is hard as a rock because of all of the hairspray and gel he uses in it. He hates using magic in his hair because he's so afraid something will go wrong and he'll be left bald. His head is the perfect size for his body and sits upon a set of nice, strong shoulders. He has full lips that sort of blend into the rest of his tanned face. Even when he's frowning and looks angry, his lips remain as wonderful as if he were smiling.

His nose is slightly smaller than a normal man his size and comes to a bit of a point at the end. His beautiful hazel eyes lay about two centimeters apart right below neatly kept eyebrows. Normally, he tends to keep his facial hair neat and stylish. Justin really can't stand it if his hair gets to out of control. His ears stick out slightly more than other men, though it really isn't in an unattractive sort of way.

His shoulders are strong and broad. He was really built like what you might see chucking an American football down a field after yelling hike. When he's not coming the library or searching the castle for ghosts, he is usually lifting magical weights in his office. He likes to keep in shape, and his efforts show quite nicely. His chest and his abdominals are nicely sculpted. He has the V that you would normally see on male models. If he weren't so focused on ghosts, he probably could have done modeling.

His arms are just as sculpted as the rest of him. They are long and powerful, though they are quite scarred from his youth. When he was younger, he wasn't quite as gorgeous as he is now. He was just the weird kid obsessed with ghosts and no one liked him. He was ridiculed daily and had a hard life. He had turned to self mutilation, though after a couple of years had his eyes opened by a good friend. Justin's hands are quite large and look to be a little to big for his body. His legs are long and slender, though still holding just as much power as the rest of him.

Because of the scars on his arms, Justin normally wears either long sleeved shirts, or, his signature leather jacket. If he's seen without his Dulce and Gabbana sunglasses somewhere on his person you can bet that there is something wrong with him. Slap on a a pair of worn denims and you have his usual style.
Personality: Justin is quite an outgoing person. Normally, that isn't really a bad thing. In his case however, it is. Everything he talks about, with the exception of very few things, has something to do with ghosts. If someone else is talking to him about something, he generally finds some way to bring up ghosts. Really, it's because it's the only thing Justin knows a lot about. When he himself went to Hogwarts only five years before, he never really excelled too much in any class except Ghost History. It wasn't that the subjects were boring to him, it's just that they didn't give him the feeling that the history of dead people did.

In classes, he never lectures. He loves to get the students involved in discussion. Justin will stand up in class and talk with such fervor that it normally gets the students worked up and they get involved as well. If they don't get involved, well, Justin really isn't above giving long and boring essays to torture the students. He believes it's really up to them how the class is taught. He's normally a very happy person, though sometimes his past comes back to haunt him.

Every so often, Justin will be plagued with nightmares of his past. On the days he wakes from those, he loses a bit of himself. He isn't as involved in everything he does. Normally, when he does something, he does it to the fullest of his ability. On the days his past haunts him, he becomes quite dull and begins teaching like it's a History of Magic class. Also, on those days, he rarely talks to anyone and, except for when he's teaching, he's locked away in his office.
Character Background: Justin was born on February 23, 1986 in a small hospital outside of London. His parents, Lenore and Jack Grace, were not very wealthy so Justin made due with what he got most of the time. He was never really an attractive child and was teased a lot. Because of that, he kept to himself mostly and entertained himself. His childhood was nothing special. He found it to be quite boring most of the time, but dealt with it because he thought that's how everyone lived.

Once he received his letter telling him of Hogwarts though, everything changed. You see, his parents were muggles, so they knew nothing of the wizard world. Therefore, Justin knew nothing of the strange and wondrous world of magic. When he arrived at Hogwarts, all of his things bargain bin items, he was absolutely amazed. He had assumed everything would be so exciting and he would never be bored. For a while, that was true. Everything was so new to him that he never had a moment to rest. He excelled at everything he did because he practice everything so feverishly. He even read through all of his textbooks three times. Everything was just so amazing to him, he just couldn't help it.

After his first year however, it all began to feel quite old. He missed the wonder he held for everything. Nothing was really new to him. His grades began slipping and he just lost interest. He was almost considering just dropping out and going home until he began talking to one of the ghosts. You see, before, Justin was afraid of the school's see through inhabitants. He wasn't overly spiritual, but some part of him just had an aversion to them. He figured that if he was going to leave though, he needed to talk to one at least once. It was then that he fell in love with ghosts. He found all of their stories so interesting.

He had always though of the ghosts as weird see through old people. Once he heard a ghost talk about his history however, he began to realize how wrong he was. Whenever he had talked to old people, he found them to be so boring. They talked in monotone voices and had no fire in them anymore. With most ghosts however, they held all the old fire of life and loved to tell their exciting stories.

From then on he was obsessed. He tried to learn everything he could about every ghost in the school. He frequented the library quite a bit and could often be found roaming the castle searching for ghosts. By the start of his third year, he had heard the stories of every ghost in the castle at least five times. They had also started avoiding him. Not only were the ghosts avoiding him, but the kids at school started making fun of him because of his obsession.

He found himself being ridiculed daily and tried to stay away from large crowds as much as he could. He stopped wandering the castle but still stayed in the library. He kept to himself more than ever. After months and months of constant torture by other students, he began to believe what they were saying about him. He began to believe he was useless and a waste of space. He began to mutilate his arms and became dark and depressing.

After reaching his sixth year however, he began to change. His body started becoming more attractive and he lost all the old and ugly things he hated about himself. People began treating him better and he began to become more happy and upbeat. He had found his old passion for ghosts and lost friends but it was alright though because people still loved to look at him. He became slightly shallow, but he didn't let it go to his head. He did however begin lifting weights often enough to become even more attractive.

Once he left Hogwarts, Justin travelled all across Europe looking for more ghosts so he could learn more stories. He did that for five years and checked out everything that sounded even remotely like a ghost. Most of the time, his leads turned out to just be hoaxes, but sometimes he struck gold and heard stories from some very interesting ghosts. After he had finished searching Europe, he had heard that Hogwarts had an opening in his field of expertise. so, he packed up everything he owned, which regrettably was not much, and hauled his butt back to Hogwarts and took the job.
Special Request: The ghost of a dog he found on his journey named Sanchez.
