It had been a few days since Brianna had gotten back from her holiday away from Hogwarts. The holiday itself had proved to be more eventful and emotionally filled than she had thought it would be. The last thing the vulnerable Hufflepuff had expected was for her picnic with Robin to end up so emotionally charged as it did. Of course she had been expecting an interrogation over her ex but she didn't expect things to end up the way it did. Ever since the day of the picnic, the events of the past few months had been weighing her down more than usual. She knew it mostly came down to the fact that she was not tackling her feelings head on, but it was hard. Every time she thought of that day in the courtyard, her heart constricted and she felt like crying. Of course she had gotten better, but it was a slow process trying to get over the hurt caused by one Christopher Whitley and Pippa Fitzpatrick. All she had on her side was time and the comfort of her best friends.

Yet it was hard to be around Robin or Nat all the time, since they were in different houses. Although she was used to this, and had come to accept it years ago when she and Robin were placed in different houses, the badger had sometimes wished she could spend all her time with him. Then perhaps she would never have been in any position to get with Chris in the first place. Which mean she then wouldn't be moping about in the gardens, thinking about the past. Bree blinked and realised yet again she had ended up walking towards a random place of the castle. It had happened a lot lately when she spaced out and was deep in thought on her walks. At least her subconscious picked a nice place to stop at.

There were no memories of Chris here, so she felt comfortable enough to stay in the gardens and enjoy the smell of all the beautiful flowers around her. Her passion for herbology meant she could name numerous flowers around and the badger made a note to ask Professor Webb who looked after the gardens. Herbology aside, Brianna always enjoyed coming to the gardens for the calm feeling it gave her as she walked through it. There weren't many students around today as she walked slowly around the garden and she took in the quietness of her surroundings. She could hear her feet softly padding along the grass, the sound of birds chirping and occasionally the laughter of some students far off on the lawns. It wasn't enough to stop her from feeling sad though, as the memories of her past flooded her consciousness again. Usually the gardens alone could cheer her up, but she guessed it wasn't the right sort of day for it. Sighing, the badger flopped to the ground, leaned back so she was lying on the ground and stared up at the deep blue sky.
