There was a main group of students running around the lawns, finding Easter eggs already. It was still pretty early in the morning and the young man was surprised to see students moving around the lawns, searching in the grass or behind trees, under rocks, everywhere they could think of for the eggs. JR's piercing green eyes wandered over the people as he slowed from a brisk stride to a slower walk on the pathway. His black tennis shoes were speckled with dirt, clearly having been subjected to hours and hours of running the way they had been this morning. His lips curved into a smile as there was a yell about finding an egg and someone even shouted something about bunny ears. Shaking his head, the lion laughed under his breath, continuing to walk.

He tucked his hands into the pockets of his sweatshirt, keeping it on despite the fact that JR was sweating because he had just made a loop across the grounds. The air was cool, but the young man knew that soon his breathing would return to normal and he would just end up putting it back on in ten minutes. The air was still chilly, biting at skin that was not tucked away into the safety net of some article of clothing. His fingers pulled off the gloves anyways - unlike the sweatshirt, gloves were able to be put on and taken off quickly and easily.

Clouds were in the sky, blocking the sun partly, but not all the way. It was a day where people were excited about the events of the day more than the weather. Birds chirped and cheered in the distance, wishing for spring the say way the humans living in the castle were. Stopping by a tree, JR leaned against it, pressing the bark against his shoulder and leaning his head against it. His hair and ears were covered in a beanie and he felt the bark prickle at his head, but it wasn't so much that he moved it away. Sighing softly, the young man continued to smile as he watched the people all around him, laughter filling his ears and eventually, filling his heart. Maybe Erik or Kiss would be out and about soon and he could join them on the hunt.

Watching people made his heart lighter than it had in a long time - it used to make him feel lonely, but now, with Kiska as his girlfriend, Erik as his best friend, all of the people he had met in the last few months... he had changed. JR couldn't pinpoint exactly when it had happened, but the young man knew that he had. It had crept in, gradual and slight, though the biggest part the lion knew was that he had become friends with Erik and then had become a boyfriend to Kiska Ferdenova.

Looking up, he grinned wider as he thought he saw a blue egg on one of the branches. Shifting, the young man reached up to where he thought he had seen one hiding behind another branch.

An Easter egg hunt on the vast grounds of Hogwarts? Sure, that sounded like a great way to spend the afternoon – and there was actually no sarcasm involved in that statement whatsoever. The weather was more mild today, the sun was shining between the scattered clouds, and classes seemed to be suspended for the time being to allow students to participate in the event. Or, at least, hopefully they were… because Kiska was certainly not attending them when there was a perfectly good excuse not to within the simple reach of her hand. Instead, the girl had shirked her schoolbag and tested the weather by nudging open one of the windows in Gryffindor tower to see if it was as cooperative as it appeared and gotten dressed to participate in the fun.

The outfit was a simpler one, jeans, sneakers, and a cardigan with a lighter camisole underneath. Her jeans were an older pair that she didn’t necessarily care if they were to get grass stains – for some reason, there was a feeling that the hunting could get intense – and the cardigan was one that would lend warmth if her seeking led her to the various shady spots on the grounds. Clasping the necklace that the lioness now never went without, her outfit was complete and she could make her way out of doors to take part in egg searching. There had been a bit more care in getting dressed, the hope in the back of Kiska’s mind being that she would stumble across JR at some point during the fun. The young woman had always liked spending time getting ready in the mornings but now there was another layer of thought in that process and it all involved JR Zerner.

Her boyfriend. She had a boyfriend now. How did that happen? Oh, right, between kissing and being wrapped up in each other and a couple year’s worth of feelings.

Venturing down the various staircases and corridors, Kiss finally nudged the front doors open, taking note of the various other students that dotted the grounds. Really, who could pass on an opportunity such as this to spend the day outside? Days like this were, in part, the reason the girl had missed a lot of classes in her younger years. There was just so much more fun to be had when the breeze stirred the hair around your face or you found yourself studying one of the various creatures that were milling about, or even spending time by the lake, the glassy surface broken either by the wind or by one of the beasts stirring below. Cramped up in a classroom couldn’t touch the freedom of being outside with the fresh air.

The breeze fluttered around now as the Gryffindor headed down the steps and looked about for a familiar face, smiling a little as two younger-looking students scurried past with what appeared to be some eggs in their hands. Tucked away in her pocket was a pair of bunny ears, one of the elves in the kitchen having had a pair from a little party they must have thrown, and Kiska had every intention of planting them on either JR or Liam’s head at some point today. She assumed her fellow Gryffindor would be joining in on the hunt, but her Ravenclaw friend was a little more questionable. They had just recently reconnected as well and as big a relief as that had been, she felt that there was still a bit of work to do on their friendship to return it to its previous status. Some silliness today could be just what the doctor ordered, right? Find some eggs, wear a pair of bunny ears, maybe have a bit of chocolate… Speaking of eggs, wasn’t that one tucked there amidst the moss at the base of a tree?

An endless mess of swirling thoughts and uncertainties had overtaken Rode's mind as she strolled through the green, fresh spring grass. The long, emerald blades tickled at the girl's bare ankles and the bits of her feet not covered by her sandals. On any other day, the lioness would have loves it. Soft spring sun spilling it's rays over the earth and warming the Irish girl's red, gently curling locks of hair, a subtle breeze teasing at her skirt and filling her nose with its fresh scent. Spring had finally arrived and the birds chirped cheerful songs in celebration of it's arrival. And yet, all she could think about was that silly, stupid Bennett boy.

Rode grit her teeth as she pushed thoughts of him out of her mind. Seeing his warm brown eyes zoom in as he leaned in closer, as his warm, soft lips pressed against her, the way his hand cupped the side of her face, just remembering it made her heart flutter in a way she didn't understand, nor did she want to understand it. It was a moment she wished she could forget forever, completely erase from her memory. And yet... What she wouldn't give to experience it over again. The Gryffindor witch shook her head. No, she didn't want that, she didn't need that. She was a free, independent young woman and she didn't want to be trapped because her heart had been tethered down to some silly, stupid boy.

"Honestly, of all the self satisfied, self pleasing, selfish jerks, it had to be him, didn't it Vaughn." She looked over to her left, expecting to see the small, grey bundle of fur trotting begrudgingly next to her. But he wasn't there. A look of annoyance mixed with disappointment crossed the redhead's face. The animal was likely off curled up with the Slytherin boy. "That treacherous, dirty little traitor." She muttered under her breath, pushing a stray strand of hair out of her pale face.

For the umpteenth time, Rode forced herself to clear her mind and focus on the task at hand - egg hunting. She didn't need her stupid cat or that boy to have a good time and enjoy herself. As she had been wandering the fields, she had barely noticed the pair of students that she had practically ran into. The redhead forced a grin and waved at them halfheartedly. She recognized the boy. They had ran into each other in the Gryffindor common room and he had run off for some reason... Rode couldn't quite remember. "Oh hi." She said before her attention was caught by the glint of something hiding in a particularly long patch of grass. Kneeling down, bare knee digging into the soft earth below her as she reached her hands to see if anything was there.
