Maybe I should have left the cloak. Guinevere’s thoughts drifted to the costume she was wearing and how heavily it weighed against her shoulders. Beside her Cosimia looked both elegant and deadly, a great combination of allure and mischief. The dark haired witch was happy with her handy work and not the least bit guilty about tricking the blonde into coming to the Halloween party. As far as Guinevere was concerned this was a far better way of spending their evening than being cooped up in the tower; like she suspected Cosimia would do. They were by no means the best of friends but they tended to gravitate towards one another because Guinevere just couldn’t leave well enough alone. It wasn’t pity for her the mess that was Cosimia Spiros but rather that she could not see someone drowning and not help.

A lot of it was like being with Morgan, except that her blonde friend was a lot harder to manipulate and definitely far more bratty. She would have introduced the two if she didn’t think Cosimia would jump on him at the first opportunity. Something about that put the dark haired, blue eyed witch out of sorts. Putting those thoughts far out of her mind, Guinevere looked around at the decorations in the dance hall. There was the band on the stage and people filling the space meant to be the dance floor. Others were mingling and yelling over the noise of the crowds, but everyone seemed to be having a good time. One furtive look cast in Cosimia’s direction told Guinevere that the cloak had been a good idea after all. The witch had a feeling her friend would end up slipping away from her before the end of the night, and as much as Guinevere was stuck on not letting that happen; she had a breaking point.

Ending up entangled with a boy in a broom closet or a dark corner of the dance hall was bound to happen where Cosimia was involved. It was just another part of the Greek witch’s nature. At that point Guinevere had decided she’d probably venture outside for some fresh air. It took a twitch of the shoulders for the witch to shrug out of her cloak, fingers folding the soft and warm material before draping it over her arm. The dress was heavy and the braid rested over her right shoulder with soft tendrils of dark curls framing her face. They sprouted from her forehead in order to frame the circlet crown tiara resting on her forehead, the tip of the Evenstar pointing towards the bridge of her nose. Everything about Guinevere’s outfit was blue and against her marble colored skin the color shone.

“Do you want to wander first or dance?” she asked, leaning over to look at the sea creature standing proud beside her. Even though Cosimia was smaller and less voluptuous than Guinevere, she still had a way of making her body seem curvier than it was. Her blonde friend was nothing short of attractive and desirable, her costume only making her a little terrifying; but Guinevere had been happy to see that curls and pearls had been the best way to go. In the meantime her own hair had been braided into “fishtail” fashion. At least it would keep out of her way.

Just as she was waiting for an answer Guinevere’s eyes snagged on a dark head of hair. Cornflower blue eyes drifted down the length of the side of his face and spotted the beauty mark on his left eye, then further down the graceful curve of his neck she caught sight of a sparrow tattoo. Immediately she perked up and nearly grabbed her skirts and ran towards him. Instead she did something very unladylike and called out “Mor!” while waiving her arm, gesturing him over. It didn’t appear that he was with anyone, or searching for anyone for that matter. Maybe they could all wander around, having a little testosterone to balance out their estrogen would be nice.

At least that was the thought until she realized she’d probably just facilitated Cosimia’s hunting expedition and groaned internally.

Cosimia Spiros was not much for the Halloween scene. Although she had always been a fan of Autumn, it wasn't for reasons that included the holiday. The changing of the leaves, pumpkin pie, and cooler weather were amongst some of her favorite things around this time of year. When the Halloween Feast and Party were announced, more students were excited and immediently began to plan out their halloween costumes/outfits. Cosimia had no intention of going to either events. The idea of socializing with her classmates, including the under class man did not tickle her fancy. Years and years of pureblood events/parties had tired her out. She had successfully avoided almost every event that her parents had invited her to, or hosted. Why would she volunteer to go to one now? The Ravenclaw had every intention of staying up in her dormitory all night, possibly with a good book and some warm butterbear. That was, until Guinevere Iscariot showed up.

Cosimia was quite fond of Guinevere, knowing that she was quite her opposite. Guinevere did not think like the Grecian girl. She did not have the same sense of sexuality, nor the desire for men that Cosimia was so keen too. Sometimes Guinevere was the last person that Cosimia wanted to see, for she had an uncanny ability to push her to do things she didn't want to do. Tonight being the prime example. In the end, she would never admit it, she secretly admired Guinevere for her individuality and sense of adventure. Cosimia loved to explore and travel, but she didn't pocess the same strength that she saw in her Ravenclaw dorm mate. An allusion or not, Cosimia envied many of the people in her presence, secretly, of course. Guinevere was no exception. After she successfully convinced Cosimia to go to the Halloween Party, and picking out a gorgeous dress, she quickly pulled the sea creature down to the party before she changed her mind. Cosimia felt gorgeous, and therefore, confident and ready to go tot he party. Guinevere convinced her to curl her hair, something that she didn't often do, giving Cosimia a sense of power and pose. She was a new woman. Cosimia Spiros was now a siren. How appropriate.

Confidence oozed out of her body, as she entered the party with her gorgeous, taller friend. They complimented each other. Cosimia smaller and straighter in stature, with Guinevere taller, darker hair and fuller features. Convinced that she would have a good time, Cosimia scanned the room, hoping that the eyes of her classmates would grow wide when they noticed her appearance. Guinevere had helped her pick out a gorgeous dress, and she didn't want to go unnoticed. "Either," Cosimia coed, a smirked appearing on her face. She was ready for a challenge. She was a siren, looking for her next male prey. She narrowed her eyes, scanning the room for her next target. Suddenly, her attention was interrupted by the suddenly excited Ravenclaw beside her. Mor? Who is More? She thought to herself, setting her sights on who the girl was calling too.

Mor was a boy.

Cosimia straightened up slightly, looking down to make sure her dress was adjusted and not snagged or wrinkled anywhere. She moved a piece of her hair off her shoulder, and smiled slightly at the boy that was walking her way. She elbowed Guinevere slightly in the chest, still facing the boy that her friend had beckoned. "Mor? Boyfriend? Or is he fair game?" She whispered to her friend, hoping that the boy was still far enough away to not here her. As much as she was a true siren, looking for her next man-toy, she was no demon. If her friend was interested in him, she would back off. Loyalty meant a lot to her, despite what others may think.

Ooo, this is going to be fun.

Morgan hadn’t originally intended on attending the halloween party- mostly because he was a little sour that the staff had decided to hire a band from London to play the event over his own, but also, in part, because Guinevere hadn’t invited him. It wasn’t as if the the boy was unsociable, he had plenty of other friends he could’ve taken to the party, he’d simply been riding on an invite from his favourite Ravenclaw. The halloween dance was the sort of event that the two normally attended together, one of the few places the two didn’t argue over or disagree on. The truth was, they didn’t really have all that much in common- Guinevere stood out like a sore thumb at the punk gigs and dingy bars that Morgan frequented, and he was hardly interested in quidditch matches or reading. Their friendship was but on a mutual respect for one another as opposed to shared interests- which could make finding common ground a little difficult at times. But, it certainly had never hindered their relationship.

Morgan knew Guinevere better than to think she’d intentionally left him out, so he hadn’t dwelled on the thought for too long. Had he been the tactful or considerate type, he might’ve spent his evening cooped up in his dorm room, but the Mulloy boy was neither of those things. So instead, he’d opted to invite himself- not stopping to think that Guinevere might’ve made plans without him, or found herself a date for the dance. Worst case scenario, he would seek our Brandy and the rest of his band… and spend the night bothering them instead.

It didn’t take the boy long to find his friend amongst the crowd, dressed in a velveteen robe and matching blue dress. The cotton clung to her curves and accentuated her breasts, making it near impossible for Morgan not to notice her figure. He wasn’t normally the type to oggle his friends, but he was still a teenage boy… and sometimes, his hormones got the better of him. “Don’t you look lovely tonight?” he said, quickly adjusting his glance in an attempt to hide his wandering eyes. For perhaps the first time in his life, he saw Guinevere for what she was: a woman. Not just his friend, or the little girl he spent his childhood running around the garden with… but a woman. And it was making it damned near impossible for him to act like a normal human being. It wasn’t as if she were even is type… but, there was no denying she looked absolutely stunning.

It took Morgan a moment to notice the blonde girl standing beside his friend, sporting a similar shades of blue and gold. She was dripping in jewels, sparkles and pearls of all different shapes and sizes, making it difficult for Morgan tomato out her features. Although the two of them had never properly met, or been formally introduced, she looked vaguely familiar to the younger boy. Either because he’d seen her around the Ravenclaw tower, or she’d slept with some of boys that shared his dorm room- he wasn’t entirely sure. In any case, Morgan was not the kind of person that judged others based on heresy alone, he knew better than most how wrong such gossip could be.

“Are you going to introduce me to your friend?” Morgan asked before pulling his friend into a hug. Guinevere stood a head or so smaller than him, so he tried (albeit in vein) not to smother her in the process. He’d always been a little taller than the girl, but with age, their height difference had only grown. It was strange to think how much time had passed… and even stranger to think how much the both of them had changed.

Cosimia’s elbow connected with Guinevere’s chest but it wasn’t painful, she tried not to be annoyed at being hit there. The sea witch probably hadn’t meant anything by it, and looking down and over only proved that her blonde friend was busy readying herself. Making herself presentable for Morgan. Something about it made Guinevere fiercely protective and perhaps a little on edge. She did not want Morgan and Cosimia to become a thing, but knew that whatever she felt didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. It was just that the two didn’t belong together, they could never really work out. Morgan was a mess and Cosimia… the dark haired witch had a very strong feeling that the blonde was just as big of a mess as he was. They were both poisons waiting to mesh and grow extremely toxic.

The question prompted Guinevere’s lips to purse as she contemplated the answer. If she said friend, that meant open season on Morgan. If she said boyfriend, that would be a complete lie she couldn’t uphold and she wasn’t up for that explanation. She settled for the truth. “Boy best friend. As far as I know he’s single?” It wasn’t exactly saving Morgan from Cosimia’s clutches but it did mean that maybe Cosi would think twice about messing with Mor and getting on Guinevere’s bad side. Although not wrathful, the dark haired witch was certainly unforgiving. Sometimes she was too strict for anyone’s good. If one looked too closely, they would definitely see the flaws in her character. Only Morgan seemed to know them.

The apprehension seemed to minimize when he approached, her smile returning and her eyes glittering as she caught his eyes wandering. How she wanted to poke at him for staring at her chest. “Do you like?” she asked, doing a slow turn because she felt like being a bit of a brat and prodding at him. It was the first time he had looked and then looked away quickly and while she didn’t like Morgan that way; it certainly felt nice to be appreciated for once. She laughed good-naturedly once the turn had been completed, one hand rising to poke at the tip of his top hat with a grin. “What did you come as? Moody Morgan?” Guinevere had no idea what Morgan had come as, he looked like his usual self so whatever he had chosen to dress as had been lost on her. Probably some grungy, famous singer or drummer.

His hug was more than welcome, her face smooshed into his body and she leaned into the hug, inhaling the smell that was very much Morgan. They both had changed so much since they were kids and Guinevere would be lying if she said she didn’t miss running around and getting scuffed knees like they used to. Somewhere along the line she’d lost part of Morgan when he’d become angry. He no longer took the time to teach her things, to let her into his world like he used to and she missed it. Even though it hurt to be left out, the Ravenclaw had never pushed at him to let her in. Yet she didn’t want to lose him forever, didn’t want their paths to stray. So she clung to him for a second longer than necessary, gathered herself up and motioned to Cosimia as she detangled herself from him.

“Morgan this is my friend Cosimia Spiros. Cosi, this is my best friend Morgan. Cosi’s in some of my classes and in my year. Mor here is a year behind us.” The Ravenclaw settled back into her skin, everything else pushed down to bearable degrees as she made introductions. “Got any plans? Cosimia and I are just going to go around for a bit. Want to join us? Show us some of your rocker kid moves?”

Cosimia Spiros was not a fan of being ignored, nor was she willing to allow such a situation to happen for longer than a minute. Once the Ravenclaw boy had approached the couple, Cosimia knew that he was out of reach. He was a lot taller than the sea creature, but lacked the superiority thet Cosimia often craved in the prey that she would attach her tentacles to. Something about him was unappealing to her. Maybe it had something to do with his lack of attention to Cosimia, for she had expected any man to be begging to grab the siren and run away from her. Morgan was a gentleman, and he hadn't paid the sea creature enough attention, for he was beckoned to see his best friend and not be sucked into the sea creatures trap. As the two embarced, Cosimia back up slightly, rolling her eyes out of view of the two taller classmates. Crossing her arms across her chest, scanning the room for another toy to play with. Clearly, Morgan was not going to end up in the closet with her tonight.

"Pleasure," Cosimia responded, half-smiling at the boy infront of her. Her attention had moved on, scanning the crowd for her own best friend, in the form of a Slytherin werewolf by the name of Jackson Lyons. A much sweeter boy, one that was able to tame Cosimia more than anyone ever could, Cosimia became secretly jealous that Guin's best friend had arrived at the party. Although she knew that Jackson wasn't a fan of such public outings, she knew that if he were around, she wouldn't have the desire to find a man to pull into the nearest closet. Jackson Lyons was just about the only man that she never imagined sleeping with. Completely platonic, she swore she would never love a man as much as she loves Jackson. Not even her deceased twin brother, Apollo.

Cosimia drew her attention back to the two infront of her, sensing that Guinevere would be extremely annoyed if she were to walk away and find herself some trouble. As crazy as the sea creature could be, she wasn't totally heartless. She came with Guinevere, and she knew that it would be wrong to ditch her in the beginning of the party. No, she had to least spend an hour with her before she found something shiny to play with.

"Yes, why don't you join us?" Playfullness returning to her voice. Flirting was her specialty, and even though she counted Morgan out of the running to be on the bottom of her Boys I've Slept With list, she could at least have some fun toying with him. Maybe he would notice that she was wearing an extremely tight fitting dress and look at her the way he looked at Guin only moments before. Doubtful, but at least it gave her something to look forward to. The room was filling up quickly, as other students filled the empty spaces between the threesome and the table of treats along the wall. Walking away quickly, Cosimia grabbed a handful of pastries before skipping back to her peers. "Want one?" She extended a hand to each of the Ravenclaws infront of her, a small pumpkin cupcake in each hand, and a small amount of icing left on her lips. She downed hers on the way over to the two of them, and was now offering them one each.

Halloween was all about making friends, right?
