The sun was slowly rising, its golden light stretching across the lawns. A tiny bunny hopped into the sunlight. It sniffed around, unsure if it was safe or not. It hopped back and forth, for a few minutes, before deeming the area safe and empty. It stood on its hind legs, brushing its fur down with its paws before hopping back to the dense forest to pull out its basket of never-ending easter eggs and its blue coat.

Sighing, the easter bunny felt overwhelming by sheer area of the castle and total of students. He would need some help. He thumped his hind legs, in a quick paced, causing vibrations in the earth, waking the other bunnies that lived on this land. Who else to help him if not the other rabbits who protected the land?

As the rabbits started to appear, he handed out baskets, one by one, as it hopped on by. The other rabbits went straight to work, hiding the colorful plastic eggs filled with candy goodness and brightly colored boiled eggs. He watched, admiring the army of bunnies that came to help make their human's Easter memorable before piling out, hopping along to the castle; placing some eggs around the castle while keeping watch for the kids that will be piling out soon.

He placed the last egg before hearing a tiny tremor of footsteps running towards the door. It seems that the children of Hogwarts were awake. The littlest ones running before the whole pack, more eager for the Easter egg hunt while the older children, the ones who began to lose the look of wonder, walked more slowly but interested since it might be a fun thing to do with friends or a special someone.

He took off his jacket quickly, the secret of the Easter Bunny, must be protected at all cost. His ears stood tall, his little nose sniffled about, before hopping away as the kids began to pile out. Thumping his hind leg, rather loudly, getting the attention of his helpers to dropped the basket and don't get caught.

To be quite honest, Paisley wasn't sure why she had decided to come down to the easter hunt. Sure, she had friends who would probably enjoy such an event, but Paisley wasn't exactly the most graceful of creatures. She would probably end up just stepping on the eggs, rather than catching them. In an attempt to not look like a total fool, and the outcast that she felt like sometimes, she mustered up the courage to head down to the event and see what it was all about. After the past few days she was having, she needed a little fun. Finding out that she was engaged to a Mr. Ewout de Dood and then going on a disastrous date of sorts, wasn't exactly something that she wanted to sit around the Hufflepuff common room and think about. Actually, she hadn't told even her close friends about it as of it. Maybe she could do that over searching for Easter eggs? At least that would break up some of the tension and anxiety she was feeling, right? Surely there would be more than enough students walking around to break up the awkwardness of Miss Paisley Noir looking for eggs, right?

Walking up the lawns, Paisley grew a bit more nervous, seeing as there weren't many students down there just yet. Maybe they were still in breakfast? The anxiety ridden Hufflepuff girl pulled at her pink sweater a bit, before walking up to get her own basket in order to catch some eggs. Instead of seeing any familiar faces, Paisley just saw a lot of first and second years running around the lawns trying to find these mysterious items. Surely, someone her own age would come down and join her soon enough, right? Instead of dwelling on it longer, the strawberry blonde hair put her head down and started looking for some eggs, hoping to change her luck.

An Easter Egg Hunt! With real eggs! And chocolate! It was safe to say that Timothy Wilde was beyond excited as he marched towards the lawns, weaponed with a small wicker basket and ready to find all the eggs. Maybe staying at Hogwarts for Easter hadn’t been the worst idea after all, as he usually returned home for the Easter days. Several reasons had stopped him this time: his father was on a short writer’s retreat with a friend from his college days, and his mother had to take over shifts at St. Mungo’s and would’ve been home so late that it didn’t really make a difference whether Timmy would be around or not. They had sent him a huge package full of Easter sweets though, carefully carried to him over breakfast by two owls at once. Yes, it had really been that heavy, and he had been especially excited about the edible Easter grass that came with it in three different colours. Blue tasted like bubblegum, green like sour apples and pink like strawberries.

But all thoughts of his snacks had been abandoned when adventure called, because he wanted nothing more than to find some more Easter goodies. As most teenagers, he had outgrown the age where the parents slipped into the role of the Easter bunny to hide things all around the house and the garden, but maybe the Easter bunny was real after all. If one was being very honest, Santa had visited them during Christmas too, and they had all helped with his workshop! Timmy was willing to believe in every mythical creature ever, especially after all the things he had seen during his five years at Hogwarts. The sun was shining down on the lawns and the eagle swung his basket as he walked, humming off-tune while his bicoloured gaze wandered around, ready to find all those treasures. How hard could it be to find some painted eggs, huh? They probably weren’t green...although green eggs would be a smart decision based on the fact that they would be harder to find.

Sometimes Timothy’s mind was a great place, on others it was just distracting to have these thoughts while there was a task to master - a task of utmost importance. There were bushes and trees to hide eggs at, and it seemed like most of the hunters were younger than he was - but Timmy wasn’t bothered by it, he simply marched on. At least he had left Lucille back at his dorm were the toad was contently munching on dead flies he had collected for her. In the bright sunline, the colour of the boy’s hair was changing from its usual bright blue to violet and back again, and he almost bumped into a girl that seemed to be searching to ground for eggs while he was on his way towards a huge, thorny bush nearby that seemed like a perfect excuse to hide sweets and eggs underneath.

“Oh, sorry, I didn’t see you there!” Timothy called out at his usual, overly loud volume, before he beamed at the girl. She was in the year above him, he thought, but unfortunately he didn’t know her name. Not that it dulled his friendliness, because Timmy was a very accepting young man who would gladly claim that everyone he met was his friend.

__
Timmy is here to hunt down some eggs, and he almost runs into @Paisley Noir on his way to an exceptionally thorny bush, because he thinks that is a brilliant place to hide things at!

Mats had been waiting for this weather since February. Even the social butterflies could suffer winter blues, but Mathilde really couldn’t afford not being her happy, dainty, saleswoman self. Now that the sun was finally out, she’d given herself the day off to enjoy it – and to participate in the event, of course. In case it wasn’t obvious, the chatty Gryffindor loved events. To her, a day spent inside not doing anything was a day not lived. It lead to many patronising conversations with introverts, as she assumed anyone who was sitting by themselves had to be completely miserable. Mats certainly didn’t prefer a quiet night in – unless she had to do her books or make her homework, she’d much rather be out and about, selling her pastries or socialising. The only thing she could do in peace and quiet was baking – and even that was more fun when you could talk to someone, which was never an issue since the kitchens were home to the school’s house elves.

As her chatty, busybody nature dictated, the first thing Mathilde did when she found herself on the lawns was check if there was anyone she knew looking for eggs. It was hard to make out, as students were spread out over the Hogwarts grounds, many of them crouching to check behind bushes and pick up eggs. Mats decided she’d just join in and she’d surely indivertibly bump into someone along the way. She put on her sunglasses, fixed her wide-brimmed summer hat, and set off across the lawns, hoping the sun wouldn’t be quite strong enough yet that she’d need sunscreen. She hadn’t packed any, and would make sure to buy some at the school’s next Hogsmeade visit. But who knew, tomorrow it might rain again – it wasn’t like Mathilde wasn’t used to capricious weather.

She walked towards the lake, careful not to slip on the grass, which was still moist with dew. The picnic basket that she’d brought with her swung by her side, containing some pains au chocolate, croissants, and a bottle of orange juice. Maybe soon they’d be joined by some chocolate eggs. Once she arrived at the lakeside – which was her favourite place for a picnic – she slid her sunglasses down her nose bridge to truly enjoy the view. On those rare days that the sun was out, the dark lake didn’t look that dark at all, its surface reflected the light beautifully, the sun’s rays making the water its personal canvas. For a moment Mats considered to just sit down and enjoy her picnic already, but again – she much preferred spending time with other. Thus she looked away from the lake and joined the other students in looking for eggs.

---
Mats is here with a picnic basket but first she’s looking for eggs (and people she knows)!

Undeniably so, Easter egg hunting wasn’t something many would have imaged Martín Marzán would enjoy… and they weren’t wrong. He hadn’t done so even as a child, because while there was the temporary satisfaction of finding delicious chocolate eggs, it always came with the frustration of having to actually work and look around. Needless to say, Hide-and-seek had never really been the Spaniard’s thing, as the game always seemed to end up with him getting bored and annoyed all too quick – and wasn’t looking for chocolate eggs in essence the same thing? Yet, there he was, walking down the lawns in a pale blue shirt and pants too white to be fit for any activity performed outdoors, actually planning on participating in that Easter Egg Hunt and regretting every single second that passed since he left the castle’s walls.

And why in the world was Mars torturing himself like that?

Well, because as awful as he may have thought an Easter Egg Hunt to be, it was a school event, and that meant that there was a 99.9% chance that his ’favourite’ attempt at a student representative was right at the middle of it – a social butterfly in her natural environment, probably enjoying herself and acting as if she hadn’t recently done the most terrible of things. Oh yes, Mats, Mars had a bone to pick, as even if days had passed since the end of the first Quidditch match, he wasn’t about to just let the whole KissCam situation slide. Mostly, he just wanted to ask why. Why him? Well, no, not that one, as honestly, who wouldn’t have picked him? But why with Felton!? And why did his previously divine self have to suffer like this!? Mathilde de Clercq likely had no answer to such pressingly philosophical question, but Martín was sure as Hades going to demand one from the girl, because he was set on the idea that the choice simply couldn’t have been made randomly, and that his housemate had some secret motivation that drove her to torture him in the most wicked of ways. What a witch.

But, thoughts on wicked witches aside, back to the Easter Egg Hunt! Which, as Martín had expected, was as frustrating as he remembered, his aquamarine gaze scanning the vibrantly green grass while not even bothering to actually look through bushes or shrubs or any of that. He was much more concerned with trying to find Mats... Was that her? Was that some other girl that perpetually looked as if she had a ‘Vote4Me’ button pinned to her chest? Only one way to find out! And who knows, maybe his fellow deities would bless him and he would actually stumble upon an Easter egg on his way…

---
Mars doesn't have the patience for Easter egg hunting and he's already mildly annoyed, but he's here on a hunt for @Mathilde De Clercq, because he just has to know WHY she would make him suffer like this!? Here's to hoping he actually finds an egg somehow...

"Dad, I'm too old for these egg hunts." Tala would whine as she trailed along her dad, a note of laughter in her voice while he walked on ahead determined to hide eggs she could find. Fresh Spring breeze rustled her hair now as she wandered along the Hogwarts lawns, the post winter caress of wind-fingers combing through her hair, teasing at her scalp. "You'll never be too old, beansprout. Okay. Maybe when you hit eighteen." The deep set of his voice rumbled over her skin like the after shocks of an earthquake shivering through her bones. She was lost somewhere between the past and the present, the Easter Egg hunt conjuring memories from the past and interweaving them with the present. Even the grass smelled like it had back then, fresh and newly born.

Tala's brown eyes shifted away from the tree she'd been staring up at, trying to find an egg hidden within its branches. The colorful oval shaped things were proving to be much harder to find than she'd thought. And the thought had been to find one or two filled with candy and then wander off somewhere else, she just wanted to do anything else besides being stuck inside with her own miserable thoughts. Well you're not going to find anything with your hands in your pockets, smart one. Even her mind was in complete revolt today, probably bored from all the brooding and anger.

Strangely enough, the activity had come at a good time, and Tala's sneakers crushed the grass as she headed away from the pairs and groups, venturing solo for now. Maybe if she ran into her cousin Una she might approach the Hufflepuff. Una and Tati were perhaps the only friendly faces Tala recognized, but she hadn't made an effort. With a sigh the newly sorted Gryffindor pulled her hands from the bomber jacket's pockets and crouched down; parting the leaves of a bush with her hands in search of one of the infamously well hidden Easter eggs.

----
Tala reminisces about being too old for Easter and remembers her father still hiding eggs for her to find despite being in her teens. She stops just staring between the branches of a tree and bends down to search some of the shrubbery while debating whether she'd speak to her cousin Una if spotted during the hunt.

This was not the type of thing TJ Isley ever would have participated in willingly and without protest. Okay there might have been a little bit of complaining on his part, but in his defense Tori could be so unreasonable at times. Too bad he was Head Boy -something that his sister had annoyingly pointed out more than once- and looking good meant a bit too much to him, otherwise blowing the entire event off would have been all too easy. It was a pity really, the amount of students -both young and old- that rushed past him to go looking for little colorful eggs. This easter egg hunt would offer no prize for him, it wasn’t like the boy could eat either eggs or most candies anyway and thus making this almost a complete waste of his precious time. All these things he would have to give away, if he was feeling generous at the end of the day anyway. All the colored eggs and candy could go in the trash as far as TJ was concerned, and maybe that would have been for the better that way.

For TJ this was not some cherished childhood memory, and even if it had been it was unlikely that the sixth year would have wanted to revisit something that would have only ended in disappointment for his younger self. For the Slytherin, even as a young boy there had been more important matters to attend to that didn’t involve junk food or bumping shoulders with those of questionable birth. Though in theory just about anything could be useful, even eggs and candy could be weaponized or used as a bargaining chip should such a time call for such things. It was really his style though, bargaining with those that dared to go against him. Oh how he missed his days back at Durmstrang, but maybe not as much as he had once. In time, Hogwarts had become something of a home, a place that held all his friends and loved ones in a single place. Unfortunately Hogwarts was also home to many that came from questionable backgrounds or bottom of the barrel families, there was always a catch wasn’t there?

The tall Spaniard strolled casually along the path, carefully poking at piles of leaves with a toe as he went. There was minimal effort put into his searching, hands never leaving the warmth of his pockets. Did they really expect him to crawl around through the dirt to look for some stupid eggs? Not going to happen… he complained silently to himself.

----------
Mr. Grump is here to show face and look good. He misses Durmstrang but maybe Hogwarts is starting to grow on him a little bit. TJ is very lazily searching for eggs, come bother talk to him if you want!

Little bunny foo foo hopping through the forest….

Only it was not a bunny rabbit that was hopping along after the lanky hufflepuff, but a great snowy owl. With wings held out to the side the large owl clumsily hopped along on the ground, pausing to peck at a roundish looking stone. “That is another rock. A round rock, but still a rock.” even as the words left his mouth Finlay could feel his attention drifting away. Somewhere there was candy and right now he just really, really needed that candy to be in his mouth. “No, no, don’t eat it! I know I fed you today don’t try and act like you’ve never known food before!” he half whined, swatting the owl away from the rock she was so intent on eating. It wasn’t even the right size or color, the stone that was and it didn’t seem to make any difference to the determined owl. Myla had always been a bit awkward, even for an owl and that was one of the things Finlay loved about her. No matter what she would always be herself, and usually that involved walking around on the ground like the boy that raised her did. The badger would defend her against all enemies, even inanimate ones such as these.

Fin did the first thing that came to mind, picking up the rock and sending it sailing over the tops of the bushes to land with a rattle somewhere within them. It wasn’t the most logical course of action, he could have just pocketed the stone and discarded it when Myla was not watching. It was quite a sight to see, a large clumsy owl sprinting across the lawns after the stone the badger had thrown away. Finlay did not react immediately, a puzzled look clouding stormy eyes as he watched the white owl disappear into the shrubbery, Either way, it seemed like just as good a place as any to search for eggs, maybe even Myla would find an actual egg this time and forget about the rock she had obviously taken a shine to. It left the lanky badger to wonder why Myla seemed so infatuated with something so simple, something that she had no doubt seen before. Why couldn’t she find a real egg, at least then there would have been candy to eat.

And then it hit him, everything clicked into place as if the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle had been unearthed. Eggs, holy snap dragons was his owl wanting to get jiggy with a some boy owl? Fin wasn’t ready to be a grandpa, surely he was too young. Surely she was too young, just a baby… or at least she would always be his little baby owlett. “Myla?” the badger called into the bushes, tilting his head a bit to listen to the rustling of leaves and the snapping of old, dry branches that gave under the weight of the large bird of prey. It didn’t seem like his owl had any intentions of joining him without her beloved stone, and already Finlay felt a little bit bad for throwing it away. Getting down onto his hands and knees the lanky boy began to crawl through the bushes, looking around as he went. “I don’t suppose you’ve found any actual eggs?” a question that was only answered with a small hoo.

----------
Fin is here with Myla, and she finds a rock she really, really likes. He is a good owl parent and doesn’t want her to eat said rock, so throws it into some bushes… only for Myla to go running off after it awkwardly. The rock is egg shaped and Fin reaches the conclusion that he isn’t ready to be a grandpa. He crawls after her into some bushes and looks for easter eggs along the way.

There wasn’t a single egg in sight. But that was no surprise to the self-absorbed lion, who at those moments found himself wishing that whole celebration had been more like Valentine’s Day – where people just gave him chocolates without a need for him to put any effort into the task. Of course, that meant he too had to buy chocolates for the people he liked, and generally speaking he always seemed to end up not knowing what to do with the boxes of bonbons he would clearly never consume because the calories were just too much. Yet even all that was less silly and annoying than an Easter Egg hunt. Then again, Mars wasn’t really participating in that whole event to search for eggs, was he now? He was there to find Miss Events herself, the Fifth Year’s very own student representative (if Hogwarts had had a position such as that)... but Mats also was nowhere to be found. Which, of course, only resulted in Mars being more and more annoyed with every second that passed, his patience growing thing in the search for something, anything, that would serve as a clue or ease that whole task.

That was when he saw it.

Almost as if taken straight out of a tale written by Lewis Carroll himself, a small creature hopped into sight a few meters before Mars, its long ears twitching lightly as its body seemed to shimmer unnaturally under the faint light of a spring sun. Ironically, its colour reminded the Spaniard of that of the hot cocoa he had drank once or twice during the winter months, its eyes setting on him as if dark pearls the moment Martín finally noticed the small basket its small paw was holding onto as if with the dexterity of human hands. And within the basket? One single easter egg, painted the most delightful of golden shades. That just had to be a sign. Squinting ever so slightly, the boy watched the creature for a few long seconds. Never one to be fond of animals, he finally deciding to take one first quiet yet confident step… only to see the bunny sniff the air and begin to hop away. “Oh...cabr-” Nevermind that. There was no time for swearing when one had a chocolate bunny to catch.

And so, suddenly becoming the Alice in a strange unwritten Alice in Wonderland spin-off, Martín Marzán found himself chasing after a rabbit which hopefully wasn’t late for a very important date, soon realizing he was actually running after the damn thing. Seriously? How ridiculous could that get? The worst part was probably the fact that he was actually wearing blue and white much alike those of Alice that day. He didn’t know how far he chased it, nor exactly where it was headed, but all that seemed much easier than actually searching for eggs, and Martín just wasn’t one to give up once he took a task upon himself. Except for the fact that, as good a runner as he was, catching up to a bunny – a magical chocolate bunny, out of all things – was a difficult task, especially when wearing white chino pants and sneakers that most definitely hadn’t been made for such a task. He could have tackled the damn thing down to the ground, yet did he really want to risk getting dirt on his pants?

Oh! But wait a minute.

Suddenly, it dawned on him: he was a wizard, he had his wand. No one had said they couldn’t use magic for that whole thing, and always one to be fond of shortcuts, the lion soon brought out his wand, suddenly halting on his own steps and pointing the magic tool at the creature… unknowingly to him, right in front of the person he had been looking for all that time. “Ebublio!” The incantation for the jinx was pronounced. And so it was that impromptu-Alice attempted to catch the not-white rabbit into a bubble created by the wonders of magic. Hopefully that would work out as well as it had done with that one cat in the past…

---
Lord this got long…
Mars suddenly becomes Alice in Wonderland and goes off chasing after a chocolate bunny that carries a golden egg. After much running, he realizes that he can use magic and attempts to actually catch the bunny with a spell! He’s also so caught up in all this that he doesn’t realize he’s super close to @Mathilde De Clercq!
