Quidditch season was coming. It was coming quickly. Almost too quickly, for JR's liking. His piercing green eyes scanned the green grass in the pitch, the wind moving it only very slightly. Not that there was very much to look at, the young man was mostly lost in his thoughts about the upcoming game. Some of his teammates were the same as the last season he had played, others were different. The lion had decided that at least it wasn't an all new team, because otherwise he wasn't sure he would have the courage to play. Finley Storm had contacted him to play the last season and it had been Erik who had provided JR with a means to be able to do so, with both a broom and the strength or courage to do something new.

Piercing green eyes scanned the empty stands - a few days ago, he had been here with Kiska Ferdenova, watching one of the three games being played this year. They had ended up on the heart shaped camera, kissing in front of the whole school. A smirk slid into a full smile as his thoughts shifted to the kiss rather than the upcoming game where he would be playing beater. The kiss had been enthusiastic and wonderful and the young man had definitely not minded the whole school knowing that he and Kiska were together. Eat that, Woodbane or that shirtless guy in the Room of Requirement... Mars, yes, that was his name.

A laugh fell from his lips, filling the air around him as he shifted on the cold bench under his ass. He knew there was no real reason to be jealous of the other boys or to feel protective over his new girlfriend -but these feelings were new and exciting, they were filling his heart with joy rather than the pain that for meaning years, the lion had hidden away in the shadows and felt all alone. Now, the young man felt as free sitting here as he did when he was running or when the broom was sandwiched between his legs, flying around the pitch with a baseball bat type of thing in his hand to hit iron balls and protect his teammates from them.

Shifting, JR rubbed his hands against his jeans over his thighs, shifting to pick up the broom his friend - his cousin - had given him ages ago. The young man had tried to give it back a few times, but in the end, JR had given up trying to return the broom to the eagle and had used it off and on over the last year or so. The breeze picked up for a moment and the lion flipped his sweatshirt hood up as he turned, looking over his shoulder in search of the footsteps he heard rattling the metal of the benches. "How's it going?" JR asked, in way of greeting as he saw another figure coming up the steps.
